Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

I normally try to fly over for one game a year. Next season if we play the Cats at the MCG that will be the game. I hope Dunn plays on him and gives him hell.

I have many emotions in regards to his defection, none are positive. Simply, he's used depression as an out. I wish him no success.

If Mitch Clark Was a desent person he would have asked be let out of his last year of his contract and traded just like Griffin & Boyd. I don't believe his depression was as bad as he made out. Because of this we didn't get what he was really worth . Yes he is a risk due to his foot but now he also a risk due to his supposed depression he makes me sick he didn't care for us it was all a cover up

Depression isn't cured in 4 months. He came to Melbourne for money and he's left Melbourne for the same reason.

The worst bit about players like mitch and scully leaving a horrible taste in the mouth of the supporters is that our players are always so friendly towards them when we play them.

If that was my local footy club people would run through him all day and tell him why. Every contest people would make sure he got smashed. Hed be begging to come off.

But our blokes will shake his hand and give him a cuddle

THIS.

Lyndenn Dunn defending him on our Facebook was symbolic of how soft we are as a footy club. We will continue to be walked over while our players congratulate their teammates for joining other footy clubs. Don't they understand how ridiculous they look?

Im still struggling to believe that a change of 'workplace' was such a key driver in him regaining his alleged mental health.

I would've thought the mates he had at the footy club (the same ones he's appeared so happily in so many photos) would be the best source of help, knowing the situation better than the Geelong FC and its players.

It just stinks and if he tears it up at the Cats next year I will dislike him so much more.

Yeah it sucks he's gone but we were always lucky to have poached him to begin with, and given how little output we got from him over the last season and a half, I don't think his absence is going to be glaringly obvious come round 1. It's time to move on folks.

Edit: and if you need some inspiration on how to move on then check out Open Mike with Robbie Flower

If Mitch Clark's depression was so bad as he said it was he shouldn't be playing in the AFL until 2016. If he does play it should be only in WA or QLD as he has Family most of his family is in WA and he has a kid with a previous relationship in QLD. It looks like when things get tough he chooses the easy option and wants out. At Brisbane he had a few injuries and he wanted out now with us he had foot injuries and he wants out he could have at least be honest and tell us he wants out instead of making up this BS.

For mine I am just happy that another human being who has suffered depression has got out the other side after seeking professional help and is well enough to resume their job.

Footballers are actually human beings. I think we sometimes forget that.

Good luck Mitch.

This happens all the time. The goddamn problem is episodic. It goes away. 20% of the time it goes away without treatment. While depression is a problem, let's not overstate it. It isn't schizophrenia FFS.

Maybe the players saw the dark days he had. I mean they were the ones that were around him every day. Look im not thrilled with the way Mitch left but I know about depression and seeing close ones go through it. It isnt great. You dont just get over it in a few months. But I will now unfollow him on twitter and also chip as well and will move on and look forward to next year. At least we still have 2 tall forwards to kick the ball to.

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
