Allan Richardson said it would be surprising if we got one and St Kilda didnt because we were higher on the ladder then they are.

Well maybe if they didnt tank and trade out all there senior players and send playera to surgery we wouldnt be higher.

Could have sworn it was the Sainters own odd drafting /trading strategy that landed them where they are. They can hardly call foul !!

Certainly not sue but I would actually prefer not to finish last

Hopefully we should get a refund on some of our dud picks……goodbye watts, doulas, trengove, grimes, spencer, bail, nicholson, mckenzie, bail, blease, fitzpatrick, tapscott, strauss ……… sh.t this most of our team. WE must if we get draft no.1

So rather than actually going before the commission where it is debated Mark Evans circumvents the process and tells us it's not going to happen. For mine, the Polo Playing Punce who now heads up the AFL will be remembered as little more than a smooth talking, spineless git who is devoid of both real vision and balls. You can take that to the bank. Whatever you thought of AD, I don't believe he would tolerate Evans ignoring due process.

Meanwhile Micky Malthouse, you can choose who your team wishes to play for your 400th (or 500th) game next season. And Sydney, I know you have won the 2014 Premiership but take the best all round midfielder in the draft (Heney).

I prefer your assessment. That's exactly right DC. His brother is another with the charisma of a stale turd who miraculously heads up a TV show. Whothefuckishe?

DC, the bloke is totally devoid if presence. He will make AD look like a visionary and in many ways has assured AD's legacy. Was it Moyle who followed Sir Alex in the EPL?

Who the hell is Doulas? is he so bad he doesn't even get a game at Casey?

I notice Frawley isn't in your list, you convinced him to stay on ENYAW?

After all the initial outrage and crap stories about melbourne not deserving a pp i suspect the tide maybe turning. Fox football has support for Melbourne at around 43% so get over there and vote.

The argument that we don't 'deserve' a PP has no merit. None.

Sure, Hawthorn/Geelong etc. haven't had a top-5 pick in ages, whilst we've had a fair few. But that's because they've been winning premierships whilst we've been winning nothing.

Sure, GWS managed to fight through adversity to pull off a great win, whilst we hoisted the flag. The very fact that this can happen, that our players are incapable of playing 22 games in a row without turning in a performance that reeks of a lack of care, indicated exactly how far behind we are and that we need help to level out.

Sure, we've had high draft picks before. But how did we get those picks? From finishing at the bottom of the ladder. And that PP we already got? From finishing with 4 wins in back-to-back seasons.

Sure, we haven't helped ourselves of late. Again, that's the point. We have continued to wallow for 8 years.

Sure, we may have some potential stars on our list. But we don't know yet. That's why they're 'potential'. They mightn't come good. And we can only focus on the 'potential' in our list because there's no 'actual' in it.

Now, all that granted, I don't believe for one second that a PP changes everything. It doesn't. We need to continue to fundamentally change our culture, our ethic, and our list, and one PP does not do that. But it helps. That's the point. It helps.

Good one DC I still remember that presser, we were being hammered for not tanking, it was cringe worthy. But to be fair to the Gil he was thrown to the lions by AD who should have faced the press as Numero Uno and of course the real culprit was Adrian Anderson who went on an inquisition off his own bat while AD was away on arduous Olympic duties.

By the way has anyone ever seen the AFL's tanking report into the MFC? Tanking is always thrown up against us in these PP discussions yet I believe if we had not been on AFL welfare and were say in the position of the Pies we would have called their bluff and said we will see you in court. The AFL would have then backed off into some face saving discussions with us. Let's face it Caro had a direct line to the AFL at the time and all she had were ashen faced officials, some odd player moves and some comments from Connelly.

if we get a 2nd round compo for Chip we will have lost Chip, Clark and jurrah and been compensated with pick 20 in the 2014 draft

the AFL really is a joke

We'll get good compo for Chip, but I doubt we'll get a PP.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
