Tried to find footage of it but couldn't; anyone seen a link?

When searching though, I found this:

Tackles of the week - Rd 21:

The last tackle is Riley and is very similar to this weeks.

Shame he was very average other than his tackle

Anyone would've been average playing in the front half for us in the time Riley was on the ground. And he's just not fit enough to go in the middle.

So he's made of the right stuff so let's wait for next year is my theory.

Love his attack on the ball but he has work to do

He'll be better for the game time. Long way to go, but shows some good glimpses of what he might be.

On a side note, how is Michie travelling at Casey?

I look forward to seeing him after a full preseason.

Playing an inside mid at Casey is much different to playing a small forward at senior level. We don't seem to be able to fit him in the middle but want him in the team. I think he'll be good but he's learning a new role.

Posting under Carrot Top I made mention that a Crows mate of mine was filthy we snagged him. He reckoned that he had the best tackle of any footballer he'd seen. I reckon he might be right considering we haven't seen this guy have a preseason yet, and he still produces something like that.

Such an awesome tackle. Wrapped him up and dumped him. We should do that more often. Physically imposing ourselves on the game is a big step towards winning every week.

Surely he'll get rubbed out for wearing a demons jumper??

Love how he just gets up and keeps running towards the flow of players, as if nothing even happened. Meanwhile the Bombers player is down like a sack of potatoes.

Riley will be great for us in a few pre-seasons, but I think his tank is pretty limited at the moment.

Apologies for the lack of sound.

I just couldn't tolerate Dwayne Russell's abhorrent commentating any longer.

Love the tackle.

But gee that passage of play was ordinary. So many plays caught in no mans land. Even Riley is late on Merrett despite the hospital handball and can't impact play. Loose man (?Grimes) caught in a useless spot. Forwards chasing but it's all a bit token and we let one of their defenders (Hibberd?) free on the outside chain of the handball. Chip I think it is charging in from the next line of forwards but he shouldn't be required to do that running.

Luckily we win the contest in the back half I think and then we play 18 v 17 for a while whilst Merrett is in the hands of the trainers. But yeah it's a perfect piece of game film to highlight some poor work from the stoppage.

Pretty much for a half and more they have much more run through the midfield and could create passages like this. It was a great effort to stick in the game so long.

That tackle turned the tide. We took control of the match from that point.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
