J Kelly? Who's that?

Kelly will be a very good player, but as I said when it happened we did the deal WE needed to do.

My info, as I said on here a couple of times, was that Salem was the 2nd best player in his comp and with Tyson, the deal was sensational for us.

Some of Tyson's kicking was extremely lazy today. I love him, but he really needs to be switched on to be effective.

I think it was more reflective of fatigue.

Quite a few players were slow to get ball to boot because of it.

Spot on 'Machsy', remember he turns 21 next week and playing like a seasoned pro. Already a good player but wait until he gets around the 80 to 100 game mark.

I said a couple of weeks ago that he is a sensational long kick but his short kicking is sometimes dreadful and sometimes just ordinary.

Once he gets the balance he will be a superstar. Loves getting is hands on the pill and like all good players he is a bit selfish; which I like to see.

Salem is a gem and will only get better and better; loved the way he worked together with Toump today getting that goal; I think he will make Toump a better player too.

Salem will be the best player on our list in 3 years.

He has it all, there is a reason why Roos done this trade, I think he wanted Salem at 2.

Maybe, but I reckon he'll have a bit of competition from Viney, Tyson, Hogan and of course Nathan Jones.

Just think, we have Jesse Hogan to come yet.

Exciting times.

I always get excited about the club (year after year), but this time, I think it's justified.

Even if Tyson and Salem weren't any good, those 2 mythical unnamed recruiters would lose their jobs for grossly overrating Kelly.

Yeah, he's a nice player, but a once-in-a-decade player?

Come on...

Whitfield? Treloar? Fyfe? Swallow? O'Meara? Crouch? Prestia?

Macrae, Wines, Mayes, Coniglio, Wingard, Bennell, Isaac Smith, Shiel...

So many guns there, and none that are clearly worse than Kelly.

Yeah, he has class, but you need a bit more than that.

And he doesn't clearly have more class than the other names.

And that's only the last 5 years.

I am a HUGE Josh Kelly fan, but to say he is 'once in a decade player', based on a game - just ignorance.

I think Josh Kelly will be a really good player, but nothing I seen in juniors suggested he'll be any better than Salem.

From all reports, Salem and Lewis Taylor were the best of the AIS bunch.

On top of that, Salem's form in the TAC cup was miles ahead of both Kelly and Freeman - and anyone else, it is just Salem played sparingly.

What killed Salem and the reason we got him where we did, is that he had a poor national championships.

Hahaha! That's a great get. Didn't read that at the time.

Roosy will remember this doorknob!

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
