On a sad note, Rivers looks a quarter of the player he used to be.

I thought he'd be a huge beneficiary of the 'zoning' off Geelong system but he looks completely lost.

**** Sydney are good though. Start talking to Tom Mitchell now Demons.

Don't know what you've been watching arrow, but Riv has had a good year, on the whole.

Have not seen the cats so tired and lethargic and error ridden for ages. The Swans are in cruise control. Two six day breaks against a side thats had the bye. Does this give us extra hope for our game.?

An idea for the living allowance which would make it fairer is that the Swans are given the same salary cap as everyone else. Once they have their list, say in november, the AFL then distributes that extra million by dividing it between the 45 players, which would then give each player an extra 20k.

at the moment the whole point of COLA is lost if that extra mill is used on one player. Im pretty sure Derrikx is not seeing too much of the COLA.

My idea means that the COLA is used for what the acronym says its used for.

Too early for the AFL to step in and sort out this mess down at Sleepy Hollow?

Meanwhile those nailed to Etihad Stadium wither and die....?

I haven't seen them fumble like this in the past 10 years at least.

Maybe, to paraphrase ND, "they didn't come out to play tonight"!

As an aside - if Goodes wore red and blue I suspect that his high contact after jumping off the ground would at least "come under scrutiny". (Dawes' impact was certainly less than his. )

It would seem logical, so it won't get off the ground.

After all, certain marquee players probably have much higher expenditures on certain expensive items than the majority.

Swans currently unstoppable.

Cats may have seen the tide finally turn, for the worse.

Wow... They have scored a goal almost every time they go forward this quarter.... That extra mil is making the cats look like GWS...

I enjoy it more when the talent is spread in a fair and even way.

Vlad and his cohorts want Sydney flags. We and the rest are merely catching up.

I hope you can understand this.

The swans are only as good as gws is, and the suns are only as good as brisbane bears are, if that makes any sense.

I didn't realise just how good Tippett is to be totally honest, i'd nearly rate him as high as buddy on current form, these blokes are going to be hard to stop from winning the premiership

Best I have seen him play since the 2012 prelim where he almost got the Crows over the line

The fixture and uneven salary cap just make this game such an awesome experience.

Whilst the Swans forwards are imposing the game was won up the ground where they were able to run at will from half back and through the middle. As we know your defence is defenceless if the ball comes in like it was tonight.

The Cats put no real pressure on the runners where the Swans did the reverse.

Super impressive hard running and kicking skills by the swans, they outworked the cats tonight

having a $ million + forward line sure helps.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
