N.Jones- just a champion

J.Grimes - calm and controlled

Watts - a wasted talent

Dawes - great concerted effort

Viney- ready to impose

Frawley - effective when presenting

Tyson - laconic and unimpressive

McKenzie - just a tagger

Dunn - creative and intelligent

Cross - tagged and created

Pederson - tried but failed

Vince - disappeared when needed

Kennedy - Harris - some quick plays

McDonald - was surprisingly exposed

Evans - one impressive goal

Howe - better when forward

Spencer - was basically ineffective

Bail - had little impact

M.Jones - few redeeming qualities

Terlich - the clanger king

Jetta - provided good run

Georgiou - weaknesses were exposed

Grimes - Failed to inspire

Would love to see some more mongrel and impact from this half of the captainship. Not the worst today but too much is left to N. Jones.

Think you're a little harsh on Matt Jones. He didn't quite back up his game from last week, but I didn't think he was bad today - gave us some good run through the middle.

Jetta, Bail, McKenzie, Spencer, Evans, Terlich, Pederson = just VFL standard

You can add Tom McDonald to that group too. His disposal is shocking, and his decision making is even worse.

Terlich - the clanger king

1 clanger makes you a king? Turn it up. Terlich was ok today.

His disposal efficiency was higher than these following players:

N.Jones

Dawes

Frawley

Vince

Tyson

JKH

But don't let the facts get in the way of a good old fashioned misconception.

Not sure you can write off our second best defender after one ordinary game. I know his disposal/decision making hasn't always been flash, but wouldn't want to be sending McDonald to the seconds any time soon.

N Jones: more Brownlow votes

Has surely racked up a few so far this year. At least 2 for today's efforts.

And don't let stats misguide you. His decision making is rubbish and stands out like a sore thumb in a team desperate for good ball users.

He'll be playing 2s within the month.

Poster called him the "clanger king". He had 1 clanger.

1 too many

Well you're gonna have to drop these players too then:

Jones 1

Dawes 2

Cross 3

Frawley 1

Vince 3

Viney 3

McDonald 3

Jones 3

Grimes 2

Dunn 2

Bail 2

Pedo 2

Tyson 2

Watts 1

Georgiou 1

Spencer 1

And special mention to McKenzie with 5 CLANGERS. But apparently Terlich is the "clanger king" for having 1.

Not gonna be able to field a team next week by the looks of your selection criteria.

Ridiculous.

Mckenzie was best on ground for us today then.

viney - very solid game

howe - good second half. leave up forward, will be a handful with the opposition focused on Dawes + Frawley.

watts - deserves all criticism. don't know what can be done with him. just so soft. his "leads" are just jogs, looks like he doesn't want the ball at all.

JKH - worth persisting with. needs to get involved in the play more. will be better with less static, stop start footy from the team. much rather him than Byrnes

spencer - taps are useless. 3 disposals for the game + wasn't overly physical. unfortunately all we've got for now, but practically useless.

frawley - dropped chest marks. he and dawes (through poor kicking) taking their chances probably would have seen us get over the line.

Oh, i'm not basing it off one game. He constantly makes poor decisions and his disposal hasn't improved since arriving at the club. Sure he can run and is tall, but he virtually has zero football nous.

But he's not the only one, Spencer is not one of my favourites either, plus there are quite a few who are clearly just making up the numbers. There's a very good reason why we find ourselves where we are on the ladder,

come at me with the knives,im big enough to take it.

terlich=PR has taken most turnovers out of his game,,man gets the ball alot, thats why hes in team.

watts=like a puppy dog,one day you love him,the next he chits all ,over the carpet. foot up clacker needed NOW.

pedder these 3 want to be at the club and play like it,yes they are hole fillers, yes they are average, but we can keep them and be happy.

grimes

dunn

frawley, here we go,lazy overrated and only plays when he feels like it. simple really.this bloke just bludges off his teammates and is taking the pi55 at the club and supporters.

mcdonald=kid still learning and improving every week,no dramas here.

paul roos. he sees all of this and will make the cuts when the time is right.overall his reducing the scoreline and keeping us in the game until 3/4 time is working a treat.but he doesnt suffer fools and will swing axe at years end. thank christ for that.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
