Our second quarter was below VFL standard today, it was as bad as any we had last year under Neeld.

We just sat back and spectated as they brushed us aside.

Take that out and we win the game, but football is a four quarter game not 2 or 3 or two and a half, it was embarrassing.

Hes entitled to his opinion whether you like it or not

If you genuinely do not think there are any positives, just give up and leave us all alone WYL. Seriously.

Ha! I'm the one 'ranting' when you won't even consider the myriad positives this season is delivering?

The 2nd Quarter killed any positives. That is the reality.

This time last year the game would have been over 10min into the 3rd by them kicking 10 unanswered goals. The fact that we never gave up and fought hard up until the final siren is a step in the right direction in my book.

I actually watched the hole game for a change without being frustrated that they gave up to easily which is all a asked from the boys this season.

Yes, true. But his opinion is often pure negativity without any basis on what's going on with the club.

Honestly, what were your expectations for this year? Considering where we are coming from I expected pretty much what we are getting.

Slow but steady improvement, which is what we are getting.

Remember our first five games last year............

That 2nd term was Ablett conscience nonsense.

The rest was good. Our brand of footy ain't pretty but effective.

28 I50s to 20 after half time. We are getting there. Too bad Tyson was down and McDonald out played.

Could have won that.

No, that is not the reality.

The reality is we are not giving up in games that, in 2013, we would have.

The reality is that we are far more competitive in the middle than we have been of late.

The reality is we are restricting team's scores a lot more than we have been able to in the past.

The reality is that we are coming from such a low position that being in the game with Gold Coast is, right now, an improvement for us.

Yes. But all that gets thrown down the bog with a 2nd Quarter that was put in today.

Watch it again.

There is no excuse for the majority of the side to be in that mindset.

Chance to win 2 in a row thrown away in 30 minutes of standing around.

That is the reality

So should Paul Roos and co just throw up their hands and say "Got nothing for you" when the players ask what they did right?

Posted

That was quick.

Should have been a free to Jack. His opponent was holding him when he was no where near the ball. He just grabbed him and slung him out of the way. There USED to be a 'holding the man' rule.

You think the players have attitude issues, yet you refuse to acknowledge positives when they're staring you in the face.

Classic.

Poor form

edit: from you

it was a horrible comment and deemotivated should be ashamed

I really think that video is a bit unfair and a disgrace from us supporters.

He was really bad today, Watts, but that passage of play isn't that bad and it would have happened to 15 others today.

At least he laid a tackle today! We had 5 players notch up a big fat 0 in the T column. People give it to Watts partly because he deserves it, but partly because they're biased. He was not the only player today to play poorly, so why is he the only one to get shamed on YouTube?

with you on this one, get sick of the 'supporters' on this site continually getting stuck into certain players,, frickin' douchbags the lot of them

The "skills" exhibited by Melbourne players was shocking. Continual handballing to players under pressure, poor kicking and dropped marks. GC's skills were much better.

Watts' "tackling" was pitiful.

I also thought that the forward line was way too top heavy.

I'm normally not a fan of Pederson, but I thought he was far from our worst today. Bail was invisible.

Until such time that the Melbourne players warrant my attention, I will devote my interest to anything else besides the club. Bring on the game tomorrow, that will be another classic!

Oh, that'll be a shame that we wont get to read your pearls of wisdom, including you talking about your vomit and telling Frawley to leave the club.

Geez. Come on! I expected a more violent, abusive response. [censored] weak!

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
