These bastards hijacked the news coverage for our first win of the season, and Jonesy's BOG match. Just another reason to hate Carlscum!!!!

I saw the news crews filming the team at recovery yesterday but didn't see anything about it on the news.

timing; its too soon to sack a coach.... especially when its the off field club leadership that's the hack weak link.

kernal_haan should sacrifice himself, fall on his sword, commit harri-kirri, step down, excuse himself, sing the chorus to Mamy Blue, micks lead.

At least MM gets to work with men like Barry Prendergast-two men at the very peak of their decline.

"Peak of their decline"..??

Write your own twaddle.

No need to copy.

It's just one of the silliest phrases I've seen!

Simply doesn't work.

Even the "trough of their decline" would then indicate you expect inprovement from here.

You cannot inprove on perfection Machsy.

You might suggest to Hemmingway that his work is a bit sparse.

You can improve on gibberish though.

I've not read much by Hemingway, but I can still spell his name correctly.

Always room for inprovement.

Anyway, back on Carlton...

I recall in recent years many people lauding Judd for his leadership and I could never get my head around it.

Yes, head leads by example. He sets an amazing example.

But there's so much more to leadership than that, and I think Judd falls down in a lot of those areas.

Heroic and spectacular acts on the field are just that.

Others may get a lift from these acts, but I don't see that as providing great leadership.

That's just playing footy.

Malthouse now discussing Carlton on FC as being the quietest footy club he's even been at, would seem to be testament to that.

That and maybe also their recruiters being shy of selecting another loudmouth troublemaker like Fevola.

I actually was quite impressed by MM's press conference after the loss, he made allot of sense, we did do some things right and won the game, but their hard ball gets were up there and if we had at any stage not stuck fat to the plan they would have come over the top of us. They couldn't buy a goal but we played well and they were under pressure going for goal. Not that I like MM but he was pretty sensible about it all.

What is very obvious is that MM is now firmly in the sights of the Media, and is the coach they want to 'get' this year. MM is going to be offered up as the necessary sacrifice by the media, regardless of whether it is deserved or not.

I of course love that the plebeian rabble has chosen Carlton to dwell on and not us, my hate for them remains undiminished.

I particularly like the way he discloates the shoulders of defenceless blokes on the bottom of packs. We should all emulate this maestro.

Spoke to a guy runs a store around these parts, very staunch Carton fan, always laughing about Melbourne whenever he gets a chance..........he didnt know where to look when I asked him about the game on Sunday morning....he was genuinely hurt and embarrassed and his face was red.... I didnt let him off the hook for at least 10 mins and I intend to keep reminding him about Melbourne for the rest of this year and well into next.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
