GAME DAY - Round 4

Astrology is a huge load of carp, but I reckon a few stars are aligning today:
Malthouse under the pump for a whole range of reasons.

The whole Blues camp whinging and moaning because of their pathetic "entitlement" mentality.

The Blues playing worse footy than any other team - even us.

We get Dawes in which dramatically alters the way forward.

Viney and McKenzie to join Cross and Jones - this allows the outside runners to get up and running.

At some stage, the Dees game plan and personnel will click for 4 quarters, probably against a team like the Blues

This is very even game.

Midfields evenly matched but ours in slightly better form.

A lot of turnovers from both teams. This will determine today's result.

We have to stop Lachie Henderson - his swing game could be the difference.

And I am going for the big one - this is Watt's break out game. If he gets running, they do not have someone who can go with him.

JKH to play 4 quarters and burn it up.

Dees by 10 points.

I'd like to see you ask the first question Smith

First question - do you still maintain Carlton is in the Premiership window you sanctimonious [censored]?

Don't know why but I am going. I just feel disloyal watching from home. I do not have an excuse not to go. At least I can get a hot chocolate and some jam donuts to ease the pain. I dislike Carlton and their supporters and just pray today is the day. Go Dees.

My rule has always been Jam donuts only allowed on the way home if we win. Lets just say I haven't had to worry about watching my weight in recent years. Dawes, Dunn and Frawley forward will straighten us up particularly if the rain stays away. It may actually give us a feel as to whether not having something to kick to has been the issue. I just hope we are the aggressor for once.

Not sure about our own bloody website tipping Carlton to win!!!

http://m.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-04-11/match-preview-carlton-v-melbourne

Wtf? That is just bizarre.

Seriously, don't do a match preview on the club website if you're going to tip the opposition, and especially if it that opposition is struggling like Carlton are at the moment.

I don't mind it - their giving an honest prediction - isnt that what people keep asking for - some honesty on the website?

Anyway its probably just copied from the AFL website.

I'm just about to head off. I've backed off on the punt a bit but I still put 20 on the Dees.

$20 on the dees here as well. I will be going and want to be there when we smash them. I want to see the look on Mick Meltdowns face when he realises he is going to get sacked Cant wait.

Granted, but to go so far as to tip the opposition? There is a place for having a bit of faith in the team, however misplaced it might be.

It's an article on the AFL website that has also been published on our website. It's not "our" article per se.

Yeah I get that, I just wouldn't publish it on our site. That might be just me though.

I wouldn't either, but I don't think it matters a fig what MFC people think when it's non-MFC people publishing the articles.

Cant watch today. Going to walk down the beach and get updates on my phone. At least I will be in an awesome environment if we lose.

Don't worry about checking the scores, just watch to see if any of us are walking out into the ocean...

Irrespective of their form when they play us they always seem to make us into chop suey. Having said that, it appears to be our best chance so far this season to grab a win. With our inabilty to score goals it is a must that Dawes gives us some forward line presence.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
