Earned selection in strong Eagles side and gained 16 possessions against the Bulldogs. Don't tell me we have let another player go only to shine with his new team.

Have we been patient enough with Jamie? Or has he been not performing with us because he wanted to return to Perth?

What does everyone think?

Downhill skier who will be okay on the wide spaces of Subiaco when Meth Coast are flat track bullying average to mediocre sides.

Showed little in WAFL last year for Swans although he was coming back from knee reconstruction.

I believe he will be found wanting by good sides and should he be fortunate enough to play in a final, will be caught like a rabbit in the headlights

Bennell is garbage

And exactly have we let go that has shone on a new team?

Cameron Bruce -- was completely useless at Hawthorn

Jordan Gysberts - LOL

Ricky Petterd - Spud

Cale Morton - hahahahhaaha

"Yet another"? Do you mind listing them?

Also, 16 possessions in a complete smashing of another side is nothing to write home about.

Moloney is the only bloke to prosper at another club, that is because he should never of been let go in the first place.

Blokes like Martin, Buckley, Morton, Gysberts, if they were going to be any good, we'd of seen it at MFC.

No signs of those blokes even been good at VFL level.

Brock says hello.

Based purely on their form in the preseason and round 1, I'm not sure that either Moloney or McLean would justify selection in our midfield. I'm happy with the personnel we have there looking into the future and, as much as people might love both these players, the reality is they wouldn't fit in with the club's cultural requirements under Roos.

Meth Coast are better than a flat track bully. They will be up the pointy end this year.

Crying over spilt milk again.

Players move clubs all the time.

Our issue is not trading players, but getting our good ones on the park.

Bennells first year he showed speed, poise with the ball and decent defensive attributes.

A few bad games and we start trying to make him a forward and messing with him.

I don't believe I was the only one who rated his talent.

Sure we have Terlich and Clisby now who are similar talents but we could've been developing Bennell positively for years and used the picks of Terlich and Clisby on some other talents.

How Nicholson was still contracted all this time when we let guys who can actually give something at AFL level go is anyone's guess

Amen to that, I just hope the Gyz doesn't burn up the EFL this year we will never hear the end of it

I was a bit of a Bennell fan and was pleased to see him go well on the weekend. One of the criticisms that came up on here often was his "squibbing" the contest (based on a single occurrence mind you), yet on the weekend we saw him go into some pretty strong contests and take a couple of pretty courageous marks - did not see him flinch once. And if my eyes don't deceive me, he appears to have put on a bit of muscle definition he didn't have when he was with us.

Travis Johnson never went on to become a better player under Leigh Matthews. Sylvia can't even crack the team he went to. Turned up so out of condition they put him in the rehab group for most of the pre season to get to the required fitness and he wasn't even injured.

Any others?

Still had some problems with the contested ball and tacking. Good when allowed to run with the ball and can take a grab but gets knocked off the ball too easily.

I don't say this to be offensive, but I can't remember one good game Bennell played for us. Good luck to him if he ends up becoming half decent.

we have more threads about players from other teams than we do players from MFC...

What, running dead? Phhttt!! WE gave him fifty-odd games and he might have had 16 or more once.

He is as soft as he is neat, it just doesn't work.

All our recent so-called "rejects" suffered through many years of poor coaching, poor culture and poor development. Who knows what they would have been like if they'd been recruited to a "proper" club in the first place. I'm just waiting for an ex-Demon to sue the club for damaging their professional career by not providing a proper workplace environment.
