JKH, Georgiou, Cross, Vince, Michie & Tyson will all play and I cant wait to watch the new MFC

Not sure of hyphen, but Mr Bean has already been told it would seem from the training report.

Good luck to him.

And to the four mids we got of various talent, age, and experience - please help Jonesy in there.

AFL website has tipped Stkilda to win by 8, reckon they have that wrong, reckon we'll belt them

The hyphen was running laps only today. He would be a long shot I think for this week. Byrnes was included in all the forward group work today.

From today's hit out I would say it is Watts in the mid field, Howe playing forward plus Fitzy, Pedo with Bail and Blease and maybe big Max. Alexis G down back for Garland with Frawley, Mac, Dunn, Gimes, M Jones and Terlich. Thursday's training may through others into the mix perhaps.

you guys reckon Gawn will play round 1?

I hope so, I still see star potential in him

JKH would make a great sub because he could come in totally fresh in the second half/final quarter with a lot of speed and X-Factor that the starting 22 won't have. Remember he kicked all 3 goals in the final quarter of the Tiges match.

Geeze I'll be staggered if JK doesn't play. Has been a clear standout and is the sort of player who gives you an edge to snag a win, which obviously, we need.

Bought a ticket today cost me $25 plus a $7 ticketmaster admin fee WHAT A JOKE THAT IS couldn't possibly cost $7 to email me a ticket for me to print out, and then when I get there $7.20 for a beer so we better win

If Gawn does play forward, Blease/Bail/JKH/Byrnes will have a big job trying to keep the ball in the 50. St. Kilda's backline are good at rebounding and Gawn will be a liability if the others don't work their asses off.

Rohan Bail may well be a top bloke. But he isn't an AFL standard footballer. Neither are Nicholson, Byrnes or Strauss. It's not a good sign if those players are getting a game. Pederson is borderline.

not if we get annihilated, which we may well

agreed

season after season we are fielding teams with way too many NQRs out there

Looking forward to seeing our new look midfield get the job done. We have a lot of key talls out with Clark, Dawes, Hogan, Garland, Jamar. The midfield is going to need to work hard and contribute goals too if we are to win. This is a very winnable game, and I expect to win, but remember how poor we've been the last 7 years and don't be surprised if St Kilda beat us.

On a side note, good luck to Georgiou and all other debutants. I look forward to Tyson and Bernie tearing it up. Both are already favorites of mine!
Will be keeping an eye on Templeton debuting for the Saints. I rated him the best player in the rookie draft and was disappointed we didn't select him. Not surprised to see him debuting already and smashing preseason.

Whilst waiting for Dawes and Hogan to emerge, I hope that Watts can spend some time as a target in our forward 50. Be nice to have somebody who knows how to find the goals [apart frpm JKH].

Bloody ridiculous that is, it costs them nothing to have it sent to email but it costs them to pay people to give you your ticket physically at the venue. That's a big mark up from $1-$2 last year.

Really looking forward to seeing Vince, Cross, Tyson, and possibly Michie out there. 4 recruited mids that I reckon can have an impact this year. And keep an eye out for Trenners this year, I think he could fly under the radar of a lot of opposition teams and make them pay. JKH has to get a run surely, a bit of excitement and flare in the forward line. It's going to hurt not having either of our power forwards but Howe has shown he knows how to kick a goal, Fitzy can surprise oppositions, and I reckon Pedders will be a role player in that his job will be to draw players away from the contest and create space.

Phone gone into meltdown

You should try being positive 'curry and beer' it's not as scary as you may think

we have a severely weakened side and we just lost by 110 points. eitihad is a hole and that price is a ripoff.

positive or not, they are facts

Even with our depleted forward line, the Saints omissions are as long as your arm. We're basically playing a bunch of kids.

A loss will hurt, big time. It's a must win game, simple as that.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
