how was his game time? Lets not jump the gun here people.

Hes a no trying bad egg, Gerard Healy said before the game he could be the type of player to get Freo over the line in a GF , he won't play 12 games this year under Lyon he's finished .

usually i would take game time into account,

but unless he only played for half a quarter, 4 or 5 disposals or whatever it was - isn't the standard of a player that just signed a 3 year contract with last years runners up.

Glad to have vince instead.

Jeff Farmer, Beamer Moloney, Darren Jolly, Earl Spalding, I think I can remember Steven Armstrong even having a good one against us.

As I recall Barassi had an ordinary game** with the Cheaters against us in 1965

** by his usual lofty consistent standards

From big footy.....

"When do we officially get worried about Sylvia? Five disposals at 20% efficiency. That's ******* laughable for an experienced AFL player.

Surely a chance to play for Peel round 1 now."

Imagine if Jones had his skills???

Its all about attitude & work ethic!

Give me 18 Jones on the park any day!

Geez, which one would play ruck dees64?

Vince's best football isn't far behind Nathan Jones, it's just that Vince doesn't quite have the consistency of Jones.

If we can get the best out of Bernie, then we'll be all the better for it.

Vince's best football is a lot better than Jones'

Sylvia's been going like a busted arse on the track. Been running 12 mins-plus in their 3k time trials.

I keep saying that Col is not that good, he doesn't and never has had the potential that others see in him.

If he's to make it at Freo it's as a lead up forward, he never has been a midfielder and never will be, hence 20% efficiency. The only way Col's disposal efficiency goes up is if he kicks some goals. He's never been able to hit a short target which is a big part of the Lyon game plan.

Even Jamie Bennell managed 7 ...

See that 'old dee', Bennell has become a possession winning machine. Who would have thought.

They do have him at 100% disposal efficiency but I remember one handball that hit the deck on the way to a teammate who got buried. I guess it got to him, puts a bit more doubt on those stats for me though.

Limited player, struggling with injuries over the preseason and then struggling with fitness (this is much different to kid gloves that Melbourne treated him with where we'd let him just plug away in rehab training and then preseason games) and learning a new system of play.

I'm not going to knock the blokes endeavour too much yet because he actually put in pretty hard in 2013 for us.

But what we are seeing is a reflection of:
1. We were a pretty crap team with bad standards

2. Sylvia is injury prone, doesn't have a strong fitness base, isn't a natural ball winner and doesn't use the ball very well. I actually think Freo were aware of most of this when they got him.

We can't judge the fight and dedication for hard work that Sylvia may or may not have until he's been there for half a season and shown what he will do.

Rivers was terrific last night. A sad loss.

who gives a flying [censored] about Rivers or any of them, l hope they fail badly, all of the turncoats.

Two points -

It seems we've been very lucky overall with the players we lost/traded in recent years, right back to Travis Johnstone for pick 14.

Could people making excuses like 'they never had a chance to develop in such a bad team' just shut the h3ll up, seriously. Some of the game's top players spent huge chunks of their careers, early, middle or late, in absolutely train wrecks. Just, shush.

That's what I would expect from a ruckman at the first training session for a B Grade amateur club, not AFL. Clearly unfit and should not have played. Lyon wasn't taking the game seriously.

If only the guy had a good preseason he would be a gun !

Oh Hell why did we let him go!

That is twice his MFC average.

7 he might make double figures one day.

Col was not the only Docker looking like he did want to be there.

They were woeful according to the radio broadcast.

Does anyone else smack their head with incredulity when someone makes a definitive statement, and then refers to the fact they heard it second-hand from a radio broadcast?

Just... Argh! How stupid can you be?!

Sorry, no other word for it.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
