All about Mitch Clark

Clark was going brilliantly pre Christmas. He was in everything and there seemed to be no restraints placed on him by the coaching/medical staff and he was certainly training with full intent.

The slight hamstring issue has been going on for 4 weeks now but the club is still playing the 'carefully managed' line.

Thinking rationally of course, I just don't think he's going to string too many together this year. I hope I'm proven wrong.

Leaving rational thought aside McQueen history suggests you may unfortunately be right.

When a player is one of your most important and those hamstrings keep giving him trouble, you need to get the problem right. The club must be treat the injury conservatively and can afford to do so given we're still in the first half of February.

Agree. There are some who almost act like they would prefer to see him thrown in and break down completely so that they could then tell us how right they were to say what a waste of money he was.

(Note I said 'almost act' - I don't suggest any of us would actually want that. Just reacting to the continual negativity of some.)

Sue bemoaning the fact that Clark is seldom on the park cannot be con screwed to mean people want him to play and break down.

To vastly different things. By saying "almost" does not absolve from the suggestion.

It is like that handy one where people say

"with the greatest respect" and then go ahead and insult the person.

A number of the posts on this thread go much further than that OD.

One can always be wrong bing but I have never seen anyone suggest "play him and to hell with the consequences"

I don't think that is fair. I said 'act like'. That is not the same as saying they want it to happen. Knowing that slight subtlety might be missed, I added what you saw as a 'greatest respect' type line which I agree is often a preamble to an insult. However I didn't say that. I straight out said I was certainly not accusing anyone of actually wanting it.

This has been really pleasant!

We have had a difference of opinion and managed to not insult each other.

Thank you.

Clark is finished. Forever.

You do realise that the way you have structured your troll post - one game disproves your blanket statement?

But I hope you don't get what you are looking for - reaction. I hope you get help.

With Clark's immediate future in doubt, the onus is on Pedersen to step up big time and play Clark's role as a key forward.

Pedo should be aiming to kick 10-12 goals in the pre season series.

Aiming and achieving are two vastly different things BBP

Pop Gun is a Casey player on his good days he can fill a minor role

Just said that Clark has done his hammy again and will be out for a month.

Source is a Facebook supercoach page, so take it as you will.

Readig the MFC article it indicates that Clark will be available in 4 wks and Garland in 4-6 wks, so Clark in time for round 1 and Garland there abouts.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
