Old Dee you are right. We need to have a joke every now and then. It is what keeps me sane. IDAD, take a chill pill. When I read his comments I thought exactly what Old Dee posted. Now people take a big deep breath and relax.

Take a deep breath IDAD it was a little joke sorry you did not see the humour in it.

I still think it was funny when discussing a car retailer.

or perhaps he ws making a little light humour....something I sense you ought to partake of !!

I come on the website to discuss about the team I love with fellow demons supports. I am sick a tired of getting picked on about my poor spelling.

Its only humorous it the person you are picking on finds it funny otherwise its bullying.

Read the comment and move on.

What's unnecessary is pointing out a spelling error in someones comment instead of commenting about the topic.

od wasn't correcting your spelling he just asked if "brake" was a pun given the automotive connection

a freudian slip perhaps?

hardly bullying old chap, lighten up a bit and have a laugh

Hope they've signed a 20 year deal and AHG becomes synonymous with Melbourne like Carlsberg became synonymous with Liverpool. ;)

  • 1 month later...

At the B&F PJ flagged that AHG would sign on for another contract.  It seems to be getting close to finalisation:  http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/melbourne-in-advanced-talks-for-new-deal-with-major-sponsor-ahg-20161027-gsc9kv.html

"An extension of the partnership with AHG would continue a strong month for the club. The Demons began October by securing the contract extension of young spearhead Jesse Hogan until the end of 2019...Melbourne were then a key player during the recent trade period, stunningly landing the signature of Hawthorn veteran Jordan Lewis..."

Another element of off-field stability to help strengthen our club.  I really like how all the off-field teams from PJ, to admin to recruiting etc are quietly going about their business.  So, no distractions for the players.  Just let them be the best they can be (and get us to finals!)

Let's hope AHG becomes synonymous with Melbourne over a long period of time and therefore synonymous with success.

Tried to buy a Hyundai using the Melbourne FC connection/discount but in the end they were uncompetitive.

Just sayin...

I would say as a Melbourne member you're only obligation with them being a sponsor is that you have them in your considerations when you look at buying a new car. If the price doesn't match what your expectations are then it is what it is.

    THE CAVALRY ARRIVES by Megg

The injury plague which has beset the Demons 2024 campaign is finally starting to dissipate and with consecutive wins over GWS Giants and a 2-point nail-biter in Adelade, a sense of optimism is rising.  Some commentators are now asking whether the Dees can make finals? A huge surprise with team selection this week when it was announced that champs Olivia Purcell, Paxy Paxman and Eden Zanker would play.   Hallelujah!  The cavalry has arrived. St Kilda missed the finals last season on pe

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.
