R.I.P. Demonology

Recommended Posts

Definitely a [censored]. Making things up, acting as if the club has endorsed this.

KD who the hell is this [censored] character?

Is he connected to the club or the mafia?

Is he a dole bludger or what?

Tell us what you actually think of him.

Sounds like he has a real case of retribution in mind.

Is it any good talking to a hacker mate or two?

Radar, yes, KD here.

The new admins policies:

D2D No Negativity Content Policy

Here at D2D we welcome every supporter’s opinion, and we respect the rights of every person to voice their views about the club, the players, other supporters and even the AFL.

However, D2D is a “supporters” group, and we intend to be 100% supportive. That doesn’t mean that we will agree with everything that the club says, or like every player on the list, but we will not allow these negative views to be shared publicly on our social media.

It's very eerie over there...

The DR seems to be starting threads under your guise RGRS.

I was one of the many that didn't take a shining to this bloke last year and he set his eyes on Ology apparently.

Hopefully, something can be done.

Have started some tongue in cheek threads there myself...

The policy posted above is genuine and has been confirmed

That thread you started has just given me the most enjoyment I have had at Demonology in a long long time. Thanks!

Always found the debate on 'Ology robust and interesting. 'Land is more of a supporters love-fest than a proper forum. Would be a shame to see 'Ology go.

See ya later then torpedo. Enjoy that "proper forum" that is 'Ology.

Ology seems to have stalled.

I work around the world and through the Daniher years and since have sought counsel and solace from my fellow contributors.

MFC supporter since 1965 think only Rollo fully understands.

Clearly I am Radar here (and there).

Would other dual posters mind identifying themselves so I know who is who?

All I know is Rod Grinter is KD?

Chook ?

TGR?

Sleeve?

See flower?

Tilly?

Rivvo?

Th x. Radar

Chopper.

Is this really happening? Looking at Ology it's so surreal....

I have rarely posted there (or here) for some time now, but I still read both sites every day, and I spent a crap-load of time on Demonology over the years. Compiling archive threads for images and articles, cut videos for the site (which were never used - copyright issues), made the site's avatars, even the little "M" graphic on the web address bar, among other stuff...

So, obviously, to see the site as it is now is heartbreaking... Surely something can be done?

We have names/email etc. What about getting the police involved? Someone who is supposedly so active with the club must be known by people.. Who the hell is he? He shouldn't be too hard to find, it's not as if he's a John Smith.

Burn this little mo-fo...

Someone earlier in this thread mentioned a [censored] as a possibility. I did a little searching and came up with this... and judging by one of 31's responses where he talks up Ed Dale, I would say that is pretty much on the money.

Yes, that's the one. Also owns/runs TalkingFootball

So the [censored] own talking Footy do they; that probably means we will all start getting unsolicited rubbish from that site on our email, perhaps that's why they wanted it. What better way to drum up customers.

I had lost interest in Ology because it had descended in to a [censored] fight between one who should have been and probably thinks he's a Pirate and another who tells all he has been a secret service agent or something similar. Hopefully they won't bring their wars here.

There was little football news there but I developed some good friends along the way.

Who is this shadowy D2D? Are they actually trying to drive people away from the MFC? It is seeming more and more like a black op. Neither their website nor Facebook page identifies the people behind it. And yet some dubious, make that odious, on-line character says wait for his board meeting and all will be revealed. Sorry, I have no confidence in their bona fides or competence.

It seems to me that the new ownership believe that their site should exist to support the club and, in order to so, there should be no negative content.

If that's the case, its a misguided view which will ultimately become self-defeating. It's a forum and its users go to express their views there on a regular basis - it's part of their lives and shouldn't be taken away from them.

There are moves afoot to restore Demonology to what it was before yesterday. As a Demonology member, I support them.

Who's doing so mate? I was going to create a forum FOR them on the back of my website so AT least they can STILL talk etc?

Nutbean here, there and everywhere.

I understand history, tradition and legacy but if Dr Who doesn't allow free speech that is critical of the club the site dies completely. It's unfortunately that simple.

He must be asleep, because he was up very late and the posts aren't disappearing.

For a pretty good timeline, read the deleted threads - they still exist on the site. All you have to do is open the top thread, then press "next thread", instead of going back to the top of the board. Everything is still there.

It has a bit of a horror movie-like feel... Join us.....

PS, kudos to KD for fighting the good fight..

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
