I remember having this discussion with you about Hannebury also. Would you give up pick 2 now. I would.

Sloane for pick 2 is a win - win for mine.

I don't.

But anyway... I would have loved to draft Hannebery when we had the chance, as some others know from the time. My Nephew is one of his best mates, so I know he has no interest in coming home to Victoria, but I reckon pick 2 by itself would be overs. I can understand why a club might do it, but I'd want a sweetener.

Good player young Dan. About the only thing he's elite at is running, everything else is just good, but he gets the best out of himself. And is bloody tough, which I suppose you could add to the elite class.

Really sounds like he is coming back...

Yeah, I've heard him interviewed before and he has no desire whatsoever to leave the Crows. But it won't stop plenty on Demonland harping on about him.

I got nothing out of that link to say he wants to come home.

Back in 2007 yes but 6 years and a B&F he will be there for a while yet.

He was being sarcastic.

That attitude is exactly why he's the player we need, irony is it's also why we are no chance of getting him. For the record if pick 2 for sloane was an option I'd take it because he would be so perfect for us and if you consider that martin and hogan are missing from this draft pool, pick 2 is actually the equivalent of pick 4. And also because i think he's an absolute gun.

YES please.

I've salivating at the thought of Sloane, Jones and Viney in the square.

No chance whats so ever

Yeah unfortunately not.

I'll keep praying to the football god PJ to make it happen ;)

We would be stupid not to make a phone call, who cares what the chances are we should be exploring any possible options to make the most informed decision, especially in this case when a quality player is involved, if he is interested in coming home i'm sure our recruiting team will work as hard as possible to work out the best possible deal for both parties.

People told us we couldn't get Roos.

Many on 'Land told me to give up on it and that he'd said no.

I didn't give up, neither did PJ.

This could be the same.

Agreed. Regardless of his status, we'd be crazy not to try, if that's what Roos wanted.

I would happily trade pick 2 for him, but that's just me. I think he is being underrated in here. You can't get quality like him without parting with something decent.

I have him ahead of Scott Selwood, Swallow, Adams etc.

I would give up pick 2 for the Sloane Ranger. I would want something else thrown our way though. Our fouth round pick for their third round pick for instance.

Are we going to attract A grade midfielders? Who in that category is realistically available anyway? Sloane is only early 20's or so and I would rate him like having a second Nathan Jones. I would cop that for pic 2 simply because it might be the best deal we get.

I love Chunk, but Sloane is better

Trolling?

I heard same thing. Crows don't wanna lose Sloane but want Aish at pick 2. We told them Sloane for pick 2 or no love. Hope we stay strong.

I'd do the deal.

A untried high draft pick vs a current AFL best and fairest mid in his early 20s. There's definitely a case for either scenario.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
