Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Great post from someboby who has been deriding the players we brought in this year, so an injured player would be a good addition, what sitting in the stands applauding, laughable

He hasn't spent to much time in the stands this year. I know there's no guarentees in football but who's to say that if we somehow recruited Daisy Thomas that he might not snap his leg in half in his first game and never play again?

I know Cooney's had a history, but we've shown the last few years we're getting better and getting players through their injury troubles. Grimes had his first full year last year and was going well this year until the weekend. Rivers had 3 full seasons uninterupted after 3 seasons that were ruined.

There's always risks no matter who you recruit.

Hate to say it but everybody knows- unless we put some wins together and start looking like an attractive proposition we are not going to be able to attract anyone.

And can we please stay away from injury prone players- whoever we bring in needs to be able to string games together, our team already has a history of injuries disrupting team development.

Anyone have any thoughts on Xavier Ellis? Could be a pretty handy addition and isn't exactly a required player at the Hawks.

How many games AFL/VFL has he played since 2008 grand final where he was nearly best on? That's over 4 seasons and I'd say he'd have been lucky to play more than 4 for Hawthorn and more than 14 for Box HIll.

Has played 48 for Hawthorn since then... 14 in the last two seasons though.

At first I was against this thought, but upon pondering it more, I think it could be an excellent idea. We've got Jones and Viney to lead our inside mids, but who are our flankers supposed to look up to?

Would be a great get if the price is right, IMO.

Not sure you are having a go at the poster or the player. The player has been superb this year! Has not missed a game and has been back to his brownlow best in some games.

Rnd 6, 24 disposals, 1 goal, only 4 marks

Rnd 5, 19 disposal, 2 goals 1, only 3 marks

Rnd 4, 30 disposals, 2 goals (They kicked 4 goals for the game) only 3 marks

Rnd 3, 16 disposals, 2 goals, only 2 marks

Rnd 2, 32 disposals, 1 goal, only 5 marks

Rnd 1, 21 disposals, 1 goal, 8 marks

That shows me that individually he is doing well, but at the same time having little or no impact on the team's overall performance... in which case I would doubt he would want to become a Dee and I would equally doubt we would want him at the Dees.

I suppose you developed this dislike for "private school boys" as a result of your living in that notoriously working class suburb of Balwyn North? Just give me guys who can play skillful hard at it football regardless of their education, body decoration or anything else you may care to list.

Balwyn North, and Melbourne Grammar. I know me my soft private school boys.

Haha, what a load of tripe. I have watched quite a few games of theirs this year and he has been immense for them

Now perhaps you can remind me where they are sitting on the table and how well they have been going and the influence Cooney is having on their fortunes. Even we have more points for than the Doggies (they do better than us in points against, but Cooney's role is to take them forward, not defend). So, if you took exception to my saying he is having little impact on the Doggies performance, just how badly do you think they would be going without him? I have watched all of their games this year, and I repeat, while he is doing well himself, he is having little impact on the team performance.

2.5 million for two years for someone whose best is past them? Not sure about that one. Cooney could be a good addition if we could lure him but maybe for a better deal.

Another great waste of money that would , he is a top up player for a team just about there, his knee is almost rat [censored] also.

Nearly gave it away last year.

Oi - I grew up in North Balwyn (as it was known before gentrification swapped it around to Balwyn North [wtf?]). I also played many years in Diamond Valley League before it became soft and changed to its current incarnation.

These stereotypes do nothing to support anybodies argument.

Just sayin'

No

if we going to throw cash at a good midfielder needs to be under 25, fit and healthy.

Saying that who fits that bill ?

Trade for pick 9 - Watts

Actually it would be justice if the AFL flicked us a priority and we thrown it at the GWS.

Bit of pay back for Scully.

Considering Grimes and Clark are now out for 2 months, we won't win many more games.

We should get a priority pick at the end of the year.

Shiel would be fantastic, i think we will get some very good offers for Jack watts if we decide we should move him on,

I find it hard to see where he fits into our next premiership side, dylan shiel i don't have the same problem with.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
