Umm...no.

AFL players of Watts size, speed and skill level combined don't grow on trees. Granted we have always questioned his desire and intensity. But I think we'll all agree over the last few weeks we really are starting to see some change.

I don't disagree, just throwing out the hypothetical.

Just heard on channel 7, that the giants have declaired the number 1 draft pick is on the trade table..... Hmm? Are they saying that there going to tank to get the number 1 draft pick? How can they put a pick on the trade table, that they don't have?

They are talking their first draft pick.....

We finally get Watts playing like he should and you want to trade him for an inconsistent player like Yarran?????

Are you serious???????

Yarran is explosive but unreliable, also a sook... maybe thats why he is playing sh!te atm.

We should go for Betts, kicks goals and we need a good small forward at the feet of clark, hogan, dawes and watts...

Cross is a must get for us, and I think we should make a play for some of the up and coming geelong mids, and definetly viv murchie from freo

surely thats a joke?

It's the kind of joke Carlton will offer up for pick one and GWS will laugh at it. If I was GWS I would be asking for Murphy.

yep

but we used to accept such things at mfc

Hey, thanks for bringing up the idea of a direct swap Watts for Yarran. Reminded me of how much Watts has developed and how much genuine low-visibility work he has been prepared to do compared to an actually soft, lazy 'star'.

Watts is a long way ahead of Yarran, and Watts is improving while Yarran is stagnating.

That said, Yarran could still develop into a potent player, much more than a crumbing forward, Brad Johnson style. He's not that short (180cm) or light (84kg) but has a smart and agile game when he's on song. Would take a the right 'price', but would be wary of getting sucked in.

Definitely, would be a really handy acquisition too. Provides good run and clean disposal from the back line.

Wonder what he'd be worth?

Don't we already have enough non accountable downhill skiers?

When?

could give you a months reading material on this subject

just revisit all drafts by mfc and how we got each pick

Would be awesome to pick up someone like Betts. I am only worried the MFC won't have shorts big enough for his liking.

I read an article saying Carlton will be clearing a lot of people off there list at years end, we could do worse than make a play for Brock McLean to come home, DESPITE what his comments did to the club...

We should also look at guys like Nick Duigan.

I really hope the MFC has people scouring the list of the other teams for targets, Dawes and big mitch will sell a good story as would signing Roos!

No offence but that would never happen and I doubt many supporters would want him back, no matter how well he is playing at the moment.

Have you seen his kicking? Makes Nicho's footskills look elite.

I rate Yarran as a runner out of the back half but its still unclear what Watts could be.

Lets make a serious play for Dustin Martin??

Reports say he is looking for $650k a season so not sure we could fit him into our salary cap but he would be worth it... Goal kicking midfielder, hard as nails, should already be in a demons jumper had we not gone for scully... in saying that if we didnt get scully we wouldnt have dawes...

Worse than that we wouldn't have Hogan.

...and that's about what I rate Yarran as, a runner, a front runner. As soon as teams started manning up on him and not giving him room the run dried up.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
