Why did we not sign up all the assistants on three year contracts like the head coach? That seems a little strange.

Apparently Brown and Rawlings got 2 year contracts when Neeld came on board, and Royal got a three year contract from 2011 under Bailey.

That's the info I have heard.

LOL. Mate. Have you been attending nutbean's seminars on "how to have a successful marriage" again? (Sorry, nutbean!) I don't know too many women who would just move interstate at the behest of her husband without it being a two way decision. Honour and obey died out years ago.

I have many strengths - selecting suitable marriage partners is apparently not one of them.

Is it today that the AFL ratify or reject our assistance package?

Yes would think we will hear either late today or tomorrow on the outcome.

If correct rpfc that is the best news I have heard today.

We have a crap list but if we are to have a new coach it would be good for them to pick their assistants.

Hopefully it's a good result. If so, I think Roos will start to find his apetite for coaching again very quickly! :)

OD The coach will pick his assistants anyway :)

I wouldn't think the AFL will release wether we are getting a PP prior to the season finishing.

If we won a few games after it was announced there would be another round of outcry from the other clubs

They might not announce it but if they have made the decision, well as we know the AFL leeks like a sieve.

...couldn't care about the other clubs by the way.

even if we win a few games we have been a bottom 4 quality side for 7 years

The only winnable game I can see in the run home is the Bulldogs, so that's 3 for the season, that's a paltry return.

At least we are consistent Demonfan!

Round 19 not "winnable"?

If that's the Giants at Blacktown then I think they will start favourites, how can you win games if you can't get the ball inside 50, I was impressed with the Dogs yesterday as well, we will be very lucky to register again this season WJ.

im inclined to side with this. Only caveat is the drier the track the better our chances. Seemed like a couple of wheel fell of the wagon saturday, maybe they can get them back on.

I love how fickle we are. Put in some effort? We could win 5 more games. Have a poor day? We won't be a chance again!

may I put it to you its not us as such that are fickle.....more so say about 22 odd blokes !!!!

our attitude remains pretty much the same depending on outcome ^_^

nevermind they just lost to Sydney by 129 a week after Sydney beat us by 31

The same, or close enough to, 22 blokes plagued two teams in two weeks. Week 1 we play Ok, week two we pay poorly.

The difference isn't the players it's the supporters. We extrapolate form from 1 week to the next ten then change our extrapolation based on every data point.

When we played Ok against the dogs and swans people were talking about is winning 4 more games. We get beaten by the cats now we won't win another??

I see a different logic to this.

Same 22 >>> Different performance( effort ) >>>> different outcome>>>>>> different forecast

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits. Thankfully, the offseason has recharged me, and I’m back—ready t
