Mark Neeld on Footy Classified tonight

Can't see any upside here.

Needs to sleep on it before backing up so soon................surely will deliver a few whacks.

You guys might not be familiar with a Deed of Release. He won't say anything bad about the Dees - otherwise they can get out of paying him.

He is now looking for a job. Best for him that he gets on the front foot.

I've no doubt he will as always be understated and diplomatic and will refuse to point fingers.

I would be thrilled if he cut loose and let the board have it with both barrels.

Understated and diplomatic are certainly not words I would associate with Neeld.

But I would hope he has the good grace and sound judgemental to avoid the cheap swipe. He should move on.

And I agree with poster that suggest Neelds appearances would mitigate any attempt to put the spotlight on Lyon who will once again be hopelessly conflicted.

That's not necessarily true. His payment was for early termination of contract not for what could be said on a footy show unless that is term of the payout. Do you have evidence that he did sign such a Deed?

FWIW, it serves him no purpose to pot anyone.

You would assume a well drafted employment/ coaching contract would include a thorough 'conduct unbecoming' clause that is applicable to any termination/payout.

However this is the MFC so who knows

Excellent strategic move by Neeld (assuming he says the right things). He's now looking for a job and this is the best way to advertise his strengths. He knows he's not going to get another senior coaching position, but he would presumably want to show that he's still got what it takes to be an assistant coach. Going on TV on the day he's been sacked shows his strength of character and, if he says the right things, also his strategic skills.

While I'd be interested in what is said, I'd rather cut my testicles off that watch that show with he ambulance chasers, the velvet sledgehammer and Gary "I'll run in, stuff everything up and then bag the club for making mistakes that I told them too but it's not my fault, I have no responsibility" Lyon.

You assume too much and a well drafted contract would not bother with that because once a person is terminated he is paid out his contracted amounts upon termination. So a thorough "conduct unbecoming" clause is like trying to close the gate well after the horse has bolted.

I like Neeld going on Footy Classified, mainly because it means Caro will get less air time.

If Neeld wasn't on, she would've just spent her time going to town on Neeld and raving that MFC shouldn't get a PP.

If I was Mark Neeld, I'd go on there to, Neeld can talk his way around anything, along with Cam Schwab, they should be politicians - not CEO's and Coaches.

I know it was not all MN fault that the MFC is in the trouble it is in.

But I still feel that a public flogging at the next AGM is still deserved. Mr Hogans_Heroes can you use a cat of nine tails?

Oh well I just have to be satified that he been so publicly sacked.

Does the MFC not have lawyers who can draft contracts to protect the financial interests of its members. There must be a way not to pay MN $600K as he has been the worst Senior Coach in the history of the Club, if not the league.

Bye Mark and thanks for all the memories as the Senior Coach. It will take years of intense therapy before I can truly recover.

That finally said I will give my support to Craige as the new temporary Senior Coach of the MFC.

As my Rant is finally over so now on to that 13th Premiership!

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
