What do you actually want?

It seems that all of us have a fair idea of what we want, myself included. But it's wide spread over a lot of these topics. So, I think it would be a good idea to have everything that we want to see happen, posted here. (Obviously with exception to team selection) which has its own weekly topic.

Whether you want to see a certain player/coach bought in, a new football department, new game plans or anything like that... the sky's the limit!

I'll start by saying......

I personally, want to see Demonland forums lay off guys like Watts, Toumpas and Trengove. One of them has played 9 quarters, the others battling injuries and form, while the other, Watts, has been a whipping boy and an easy target for too long. I know for a fact, people on here who ridicule him, will be the first to call him a traitor if he were to leave at the end of the season.

On a positive, i'd love to see Neeld turn into a successful coach, I think he has had a rough time in his first couple of years. What he has been through, and the way he has managed to shield the players is unbelievable.

Isnt it obvious? We want to win.

It's pretty simple, but seems to be in no way simple getting there.

The mind boggles at the intricate details of the football club, structures, talent of players etc that have an adverse effect on our ability to win and that are discussed on Demonland. We just have to find the right formula, which is clearly not easy.

I want to see my club the MFC pummell its opposition ruthlessly into the dirt weekly.

The way Whorethorn do it regularly. I have wanted this ever since September 1987.

I am still waiting...

I think you'll be waiting a while longer WYL.

I want to see us stop being the "trailer trash" of the comp. Let's earn some respect.

These days it's not so much that I want to win, but I just want to feel like we could win. Sick of the feeling of predictable losses and hollow victories.

I'd like to see the challenges the team and Mark Neeld has faced to galvanise the team and for us to progressively build into a real force over the next few years. I want our supporters to stick by our list, coach and managementattend games and enjoy our improvement.

I would love to not worry about the club. Just heard our CEO say we will have over a million dollar loss this year. There's some worries. On the field we suck. More worries.

1. How about someone from the club reply to some of the questions raised in these posts - maybe on a weekly basis. They provide information via the club website, but its the same old rhetoric, be patient, developing players... Answer the questions the members are asking.

2. Work on the club culture. Get the senior players and the administration to look at the culture of successful clubs. If it costs us to send them to the UK or US, so be it. But they could start by spending a week following Melb Storm around.

3. Tell us where the club expects to be - not just "the hardest team to play against" , but how many wins are a "pass" for this year, when do we expect to see the club actually competitive?

The only way to make money is to win.

Everything else is a Bandaid.

Anybody within the club who held any sway during the Tanking era should leave now.

We are paying a terrible price for it.

For what gain? 3 very over rated picks.

The only way thiis club will survive is to win regularly.

+ 1

  • Respect is what I want,
  • small steps, quick fixes like the list management/experiment are a thing of the past.
  • Hard work is all that will get us out of this hole.
  • Start being competitive week in week out and the results/improvement will come
  • I no longer want to be pitied by opposition supporters

Totally agree. We are no different from other clubs in that we have a ton of potential members and new supporters who will come to the fold when/if we resemble a football team that could win any game. Christ if port can do it we certainly can.

I don't want to get laughed at every time we play or i tell someone i am a Melbourne supporter it's that simple.

i'm sure we will be good again in time but noone respects us right now and we don't deserve respect so hopefully we can earn abit of that back

I don't mind if Neeld stays coach, i don't wanna hear we are happy with a 5 goal loss to brisbane, you might be Neeldy but i am betting noone else is.

I want to have my passion for the club and interest in the footy season sustained for most of the season, instead of being dashed on the rocks of hopelessness and despair after just 1 or 2 rounds.

I want to see a contract extension announced for Colin Sylvia asap.

IMO this would provide good evidence of morale in the sheds and 'buy in' from some of the old guard.

James Frawley crushing a few rumours and putting pen to paper would also be a good show of faith, would be thrilled if that happened.

how long?

To see out his 3 Yr term...

He spent the 1st Yr looking sorting sifting & planning with a bit of teaching & plenty of marking cards.

he has just started after purging the list of surplus to needs, to rejig it & restock with those hard at it types & hard workers.

so the best idea some can come up with, is to sack the builder, just as soon as he's stripped out the old plaster board... thinking the job should have been finished by Now.

Wow,,, never be a builder...

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
