Demons in Sorrento

Very strange.

About an hour ago the memory of the players heading down to Lorne (?) before the Geelong game in '05 came flooding into my mind.

Good move - strange that its needed after spending a whole pre season (including a week together in Darwin). I wonder if this has been arranged post Schwab? Some of our players need to pull their heads in IMO.

after watching Scarlett on Open Mike, he said the team was lacking cohesiveness and work ethic, they had a terrible Culture.. going out.. sinkin [censored].. half assed training...

he said the open.heart chats to each other made them the powerhouse they are..

i know we arent Geelong talent wise.. but its a start!

Great idea, changing your environment is according to some the first step in changing your beliefs, which drive your thoughts and ultimately your actions. The guys were so shot after the game I applaud trying something different.

I don't necessarily agree with the move but given the circumstances it's worth trying anything.

I wish we weren't so diabolicaly crap at present because WCE at the MCG would be a very winnable game if we were anywhere near our best. Alas not.

No problem with that at all myself. No offence meant, but I wish we didn't have threads like this starting up because it just gives the usual suspects more opportunities to put their virtual boots into the players. These threads inevitably become a playground for the keyboard heroes.

Its a good place to get out of dodge and focus on whats coming up this weekend.

Good place for training too - alot of great places to swim in the surf, beach running which really tests you and open roads for jogging.

what a load - they just got lucky with recruiting and had some talented players. If they were underperforming we'd here more about that bloke that got caught with coke. Dees were a powerhouwe back in the early 2000s and people were saying the same thing about Geelong.

its simple - the dees just dont have the talent on the list

Can't say the location is one that inspires given what Sorrento is known for. But they do have a reasonably decent ground down there and won't be too busy with toffs this time of the year. Would have preferred Torquay as that is a ripper ground.

Plenty of the boys surf and is a common interest that seems to bond quite a few together (Jones, Bail, Hogan?) and the surf forecast probably favours the East coast on Wednesday given how small the swell is.

Bloody hell I hope this is the start of something and we have turned a corner

According to channel 9 the boys have gone down to Sorrento for the night, to bond and talk about how to ressurrect the year.

good move.

good to see.

Some bonding and heart to hearts is a positive approach..

Sorrento is nice and relaxing, great holiday spot.

I think they should go to Frankston instead.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
