Dale Thomas and Mark Lecras yes please!

I really think we should have a fair old crack on GWS with some of there kids. hearing rumours Will Hoskin Elliot and Dom Tyson will be looking to come home at years end.

Midfielders please. Inside and out mids. Some experienced, around 25-27 year mark, and a couple of youngish 21-22 yr olds. And another high draft pick mid. Not too much to ask Santa, is it?

I rate Ellis. Injury prone but has the outside game the club needs. Foot skills are very good and struggles to fit into a midfield that is stacked with talent. He should not cost too much. He also plays well in finals. Players who step up in important games are hard to find.

As much as i would like Xavier Ellis, i highly doubt that Hawthorn would let him go. Think he is pretty highly regarded at the club.

LeCras yes, but cannot see any reason for him to leave a successful club. Thomas the same. Buddy too expensive, and if he goes anywhere, which i highly doubt, i think it will be to WA.

Nathan Van Berlo is the captain of the Crows, and there is absolutely no way he will leave.

As DD36 said, we'd be much better off targeting players from GWS, or the Gold Coast. It's going to be hard for them to fit everyone in.

Ellis maybe a victim of the Buddy Franklin contract leehow. He could be one of a few Hawks other clubs may pounce on. If the MFC are smart they will be in the ear of a few Hawks offerring reasonable money.

If the club shows some very good improvement on field, we may look like a club that could intice a player like Ellis. He is always on the fringe come selection

Wouldn't mind a crumbing small forward to be at the feet of the big guys we now have up there. I hope we don't end up being too tall (Clark, Dawes, Hogan, Pedersen...)

So in that list, not a lot standing out for that role. LeCras maybe, but he plays tall, more of a lead up. Wouldn't mind Eddie Betts who will be a free agents but highly doubt he will leave Carlton.

We need a quality midfielder who has played around 100 games and guys like Dale Thomas and Xavier Ellis certainly fit the brief. Wouldn't think Buddy would be a chance and Van Berlo is captain of the Crows but I'm certainly open to the possibility of Lecras.

There's another midfielder from hawthorn who is a free agent. Tough as nails, big frame, decent tank, plays with a

Bit of sh!t in him, knows success!!

Same draft as buddy, and could definitely be a squeeze if buddy's staying!!

Lewis?? He is tough. I like watching him play. But I reckon he would be loyal.. And would stick with the hawks..

Sorry, but I couldn't resist simply because I like this toon (but I would be happy for us to take LeCras and Thomas):

Haven't seen a ball kicked in anger for 2013, think the team is already crap so start a thread about what may eventuate in 8 to 9 Months time.....amazing......we have already recruited to fix the perceived shortcomings in the midfield....or I think we have

I think you're being a bit over-sensitive here... these are players who are coming up for free agency so despite possibly being a bit premature, the thread does have relevance. We were obviously limited in the number of players we could recruit and hardly have expected to cover all shortcomings in one year.

Hey, that would be like cutting off Sampson's hair... how do you think he manages to take those marks where he seems to float above the pack?

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
