Deeg is a troll, if she was not talking bs she would stay and reply to other post, and if it is so, then carlton is next, also anderson would still be there to take the gory to tell the world he was right to start the investgatiaon.d
WTF??? ;:-)((

Really, someone who created a profile in August with just 4 posts to their name and all four posts have been extremely negative to the MFC.

My spidery senses are tingling!

I'll belive it when I see it

Perhaps deegirl = caroline wilson???

Sorry deegirl, that was a shocking thing to say... please accept my contrite apology.

Many a true word has been spoken in jest.

what utter garbage... the Law is there to serve both parties. Its particularly there to serve the transgressed.

its because people think like this that institutions get away with murder.

take the bastards on !! take anyone on.

you either fight...or youre nothing !!

Look I don't disagree with the sentiment but in a situation like this, even if you win, you lose. The AFL will control our destiny long after any court case ends. If we were in the position of a Collingwood or West Coast I might agree but we rely on the AFL to prop us up from going out of business, let alone any other considerations like fixturing/broadcasting etc. And really, despite what anyone might say here I find it hard to believe anyone thinks it wasn't our intention to secure picks 1 & 2. Knowing and proving are obviously two different things which is why all this will depend on what kind of evidence the AFL has. If they have documented evidence of a clear strategy to ensure we lose games it's a no contest. If it's just subjective opinions against other subjective opinions well thats another matter.

Let me get my head around this. An anonymous poster (as are we all) claims to have “sources” that have given her an exclusive bombshell concerning the MFC. This source is apparently superior to any that the mainstream media have since they have made no comment. It also apparent that Caro, who would give her left [censored] for this exclusive, has been scooped.

Remarkably this rumour draws around 100 responses many of which give it credence.

If that isn't silly enough, some are discussing what penalty we will get.

You have got to be kidding me!

Some anonymous posters have a good track record. Deegirl is one of them. It wouldn't be the first time she's beaten the media to the punch.

Definitely the same deegirl... She posted the same thing on Demonology. Here's to hoping that she's wrong.

I'd take anything she says with a grain of salt just like everything else on here. Even with a good track record she would only be reiterating speculation she has heard from "insiders" at the club. Who knows what that may amount to. Make no mistake though, if they do charge us with tanking it will be one of the biggest stories in the history of the game so I'd prepare to batten down the hatches.

As above, her information would only be as good as her sources though. Previous posts, I am guessing, were related to the workings of the MFC. This is the workings of the AFL and their integrity department we are talking about which will effect the MFC, a small distinction but a distinction nonetheless.

Yes it would be a big story and the loss of draft picks may be the tip of the iceberg if we are found to have deliberately tanked. The penalties will make all previous breaches pale in to insignificance.

I don't think we will however.

Where's WYL to put some context around all of what's happened today. :)

Scapegoat?

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2012-12-19/tank-verdict-looms-for-dees

THE AFL has all but finalised its five-month investigation into alleged match tanking at Melbourne, with the club to be provided with all findings before the Christmas break.

The probe, into practices employed during Dean Bailey’s tenure as coach, is believed to have found adversely against former football manager Chris Connolly.

No official sanctions have been determined, as that will be a matter for the AFL commission.

The Dees need to be the hardest team to play against both on

and off the field.

The time to harden up is long overdue.

Sure, but there's a difference between hard and suicidal. It depends what "proof" they have.

We didnt tank, my guess is the club will be cleared of tanking, but CC will be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.

"AFL.com.au believes the investigating officers have been applying massive pressure on some witnesses to make admissions on certain incidents, or potentially face heavy sanctions."

Won't stand up in court.

Take it there.

Patrick Keane from the AFL:

"AFL confirms Melbourne FC inquiry has now reached stage of evidence to be provided to relevant parties to give them opportunity to comment.

It is expected that a final decision regarding whether any charges under AFL Rules are warranted will be made in late January 2013."

Pretty sure that's impossible - the investigation doesn't determine guilt or otherwise, it presents the facts to the Commission who will decide whether to lay charges or not.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
