Is this the training or the scarf thread?

Its the heat they have all gone troppo.

Meanwhile in Kakadu.....

Just occurred to me that if you are going to have a closed session where else would be better than an army barracks surrounded by the best security the country could supply.

Like to see opposition scouts get some info on this one.

Darwin, that'd be where someone waltzed onto a Navy boat and stole weapons right....

I guess it's not foolproof, but maybe a bit more secure than Gosch's.

Davey said Melbourne’s pre-season was the toughest he had been involved with at the club.

“Last year was pretty solid and it’s gone up a notch this year,” he said.

“It’s been tough … but the guys are a lot fitter and stronger.”

This is amazing to read. This really explains why we have been so putrid for so many years!!!!!.

Beeing based in WA i never really saw the point of them, but I flew over to watch the Dee's / Hawks game last year and sitting in the olympic stand with the wind howling and a massive chill factor i found a new respect for the humble scarf.

I wear a couple of them on really cold days.

God i hate scarves....between the 3 melbourne supporters in our house we have 30 scarves...no joke...a free one every year for the last 10 years.

I wish they would offer an alternative such as a tie or a flag.

I agreed with you until last season, when during a fit of rage at our performance, I lose my member scarf.

I then had to wear an old one, and felt like a dirty scumbag, fearing people are judging me for not renewing my membership since 2010.

Just hope they stopped being such tightarses and made them a bit longer this year (it would add no more than 10c to the cost to knit 5cm extra). They are too short to wrap around, and wearing them flat is just stupid.

Would love to know how our team stacked up against the army guys on some of the obstacle courses, are we par, above or below a commando squad? Wouldn't think we're at SAS level yet

I think they are aiming for the English Football style scarves which are about the same length and used more as a banner than a scarf.

Hmmm one picture of a sign saying no swimming due to crocodiles, and another of all the boys swimming.

I hope it was in a different pond! No way in hell I'd swim ANYWHERE in Kakadu.

The crocodiles saw a sign saying no swimming due to jack viney so the boys should be safe.

Havent seen many reports on how the boys went on their Kakadu trek?

Weve been getting great reports everyday on the club website but still nothing from yesterday.

Burgan has to write the reports and I hear he went on an 8 hour walk yesterday...

I too lost my scarf this year in a newly established end of season ritual...

Hi Guys & Girls,

As a life long dees fan who lives abroad, I've only just stumbled across this wonderful website. I've spent some time reading a few of the topics and thought this might be a good thread to start on.

I think the club is doing a great job at keeping everyone informed and it's good to see they have moved with the times and are using the whole social media thing to engage with the supporters. Years gone by there has been the odd update on the website and the occasional article in the online papers, but nothing like I'm seeing now. It's fantasic and I don't feel like I'm missing out on as much now.

So I look forward to more updates, and thank all the people on here in advance for the all training reports and the odd bit of banter!

P.S I don't think the wife will be too impressed with me finding this site, the computer might be getting a little more attention from now on.....

Welcome.

And yes, you will waste a lot of time here...

But is it a waste of time if you are talking about the Demons with other Demons?

Yes, yes it is.

And a warm welcome to you.

The club certainly has been really good with this trip. Other off-season reporting has been great also.

It's usually during the home and away season that the internal media drops off for one reason or another...

If anyone wants some further information or pictures from the trip and they have a twitter account, I suggest you follow Burgo or Jones, Mitch Clark and Magner are also keen tweeters.

Cheers

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

Rehabbing: Great to see Kentfield back (much slimmer), walking with Tholstrup, TMac (suspect just a management thing), Viney (still being cautious with that rib cartilage?), Melksham (

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. Firstly the bad news - McVee went down late, which does look like a bad hammy - towards the end of match sim, as he kicked the ball. Had to

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
