There were a tonne of people at training, (including Todd V, Harrington, Mahoney, Connolly, Schwab, etc.) so I'm sure there'll be more reports. I'll leave it to others this week. It was a long session. I got there at 9.50am, which was exactly the same time as the players came out, and left at 12.20pm and they were still training.

I have to say I like the look of Kent. He has the big arse that Malthouse loves, strong legs and is a very nice left foot kick. Although the newbies were restricted to light work and spending time with Neil Craig.

And I loved Viney's stoppage work in the man-on-man match simulation drills.

A work colleague of mine who also a WAFL Colts umpire goes to the same gym as Kent does here in WA. Said he was flogging himself in there the (Friday) night after being drafted rather than celebrating.

Says he's a real hard worker.

Sounds like he was very excited. Jon Dorotich was from WA too.

I'd probably do the same if the Dee's picked me up.

I will choose my verbs more carefully next time.

It wasn't Jack Fitzpatrick?

... uh, I reckon the seasoned training watchers are probably switched on enough to recognise Fitzpatrick.

The new tall was 200cm and his first name was Jack.

Not me - I was at the dentist's.

Besides, I'm a tad under 200cm.

Well, actually, I'm more than a tad under - close to a foot in the old.

Anyway, thanks everybody for your reports - much appreciated.

It was definitely Jack Hannath. I asked one of the coaching staff at training.

Jay Clark from Herald Sun tweeted to say Rodan and Viney were clear standouts at Dees training this morning

As opposed to Jake Spencer or Stef Martin this guy is an ACTUAL footballer, not a 'basketballer' or 'tall guy'.

Looks very hungry.

Looks a rather solid lad doesnt he -_-

Might be a capable rookie. Seems all the way around the club is adding players who could and would be nipping at others heels should any falter or not come on.

Aught to be a lot of very 'keen' players in 2013 :) Not a bad thing in my books.

I have mentioned somewhere else that we are playing the percentages when it comes to recruiting choosing well rounded types.

All have a degree of athleticism, strength and skill and they all look and act like footballers.

i.e. no glaring weaknesses,

Flash will retire at the end of next season.

I'll make a prediction.

Flash will put in some hard yards and might even squirm his way onto the bench a few times.

He will show cameos of brilliance lest we forget he was THE ONE who effectively started the defensive forward thing in the reincarnation of the game (as we now know it).

Then it'll be about ... ooooh ... round 14-15. Flash will fail to come up after a niggling reignition of his knee. After talks with the club and a visit to the personnel department to sign off on a change in role at the club he will announce his retirement from AFL playing effective immediately.

Some well deserving rookie gets promoted for the ros and life goes on.

This is said not to denigrate the bloke as hes been a great player in the main, cruelled in the end by injuries. Just calling it as i see it (in the tea leaves lol).

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
