I'm happy overall, although don't know much about the two mature age recruits. I wanted Wines over Toumpas but time will tell.

I'll be at the MCG tomorrow to watch my nephew, Scott Boland play his first shield game for the Bushies this season so I hope to see a few Dees players there.

Go Dees/Bushies!

Good.

Speak to me and justify your vindictive, verbose comments later in the year eh?

I hope for your sake and Jimmy's and the club's and those "In the Know" footballing oracle, that Jimmy Toumpas does fire up!!!

I wish him all the very best.

I will watch with interest!

These guys= every recruiter and coach at every club participating in this draft.

I like the approach we took this year. No riding on potential, no big risk big reward plays here, just proven performers who have played against men and shown their metal for he first two picks

17 other clubs said no, 80 odd picks later and still no interest.

clearly doesn't want to play afl enough

First two picks very happy with.

Last two picks very confused about ... a 23 and a 25 year old...?

I thought that maybe Shane Nelson or Sam Colquhoun would have got a gig.

perhaps its just the lack of a highlight reel that has me disconcerted.

Collingwood did very well in the first round ... pricks

Seems to me like we picked

- kids who are capable of playing some games in 2013

- older players with the bodies to go tomorrow

Not a skinny project player in sight

Thank God!

Time will tell how well they pan out but it is difficult to see them being worse that the players that have been dropped from the list.

No offence fence, but it sounds more like you're willing him to fail.

No not at all mate I just have a philosophically different view that Insiders are much better value than outsiders

Only speaking from personal view as to how I played the game!

I wish Jimmy T all the best!!!! AND I will watch with interest!

We traded it for Rodan and our list was full by then anyway.

But... we got it back for Morton.

So where'd it go?

Ah, right. It ceased to exist (89 became 88) because our list is full. You only get the luxury of passing if you still have an empty spot to pass on.

So where'd it go?

Could it be that we only had x number of live picks, and the last couple we had defined to be rookie upgrades, therefore any picks afterwards are removed?

Just speculating.

With the mature player we picked today it looks like we are actually going to play to win in 2013 instead of picking thin kids who won't be ready to play AFL for another 2 years and hope they turn out good players.

What will 2013 bring?

I like the vision of all the players.

The young boys have class, drive, and desire from the little I have seen of their game, and the older two have solid bodies and Terlich is intriguing.

The only disappointment for me is taking Matt Jones, a 25 year old that didn't feature in a single phantom draft or 'VFL prospects' thread, over a tough inside midfielder who won the Morrish Medal and was BOG in the TAC Grand Final. I don't care about the earring and blonde tips, Nick Graham would have been the go for us at 52.

Has Matt Jones been training with an afl club? Surely we could have got him down to training and rookied him if we were still keen. I know for a fact Hawthorn, who are right across Box Hill given their alignment, didn't have jones in their top 150 prospects.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
