From the things I know him to have done, he is doing well.

It is the things that some have alleged him to have done or been involved with that makes this poll premature imo. Until the investigation is over and we learn IF he was involved with tanking and if so, how much, then I can't answer.

I'll be honest, I don't know much about him. All I know is he was initially sacked the morning of the Geelong thrashing and he had some form of conflict with the old football department. I don't know the ins and outs, I don't know what his views were on this so called tanking debacle, but all I can say is I love his passion he shows for the club and I like what he has done in relation to the new club sponsors and facilities at AMMI park.

I think I would like to vote - first I am casting this opinion as outsider looking in so I have to largely judge the book by its cover

A whole lot of good mixed with a whole lot of bad.

A whole lot of good - Debt reduction, restructuring the footy club and will even give him cudo's for getting Energywatch ( as other codes did as well) and then replacing them when they went pearshaped - not easy in this enviroment with the product he has to sell.

A whole lot of bad - the apparent sticking his nose into the footy department and getting players and others offside and his tie up with this current mess.

Surely this is right - a mixture

At the end of the day, Melbourne is # in a stronger financial position now than it has been for a long time - it has good facilities - and its stands for something ( the founder of the game etc). It is difficult to criticize the CEO who has been in place during this period

[# Prior to the McLean/ Wilson attack!]

A unfortunate topic at present allowing the disillusioned supporters a chance to cause a greater rift within the club for their personal benefit.

In times of war a united front is required.

All Demon fans should be banding together against outside forces.

If we win the battle there will be plenty of time later to sort out internal bickering.

I have had personal run-ins with Cameron in the past and have spoken of him in a negative way on the forum but I do believe he's made some good decisions since the fall-out of the famous Geelong game.

Improved football department personnel, continued revival of football department funding, a stronger bottom-line and continued ability to connect with strong sponsors. My only query would be his old fashion management style - I do hope he shows some innovation moving forward.

I asked Don McLardy at a members meet in July, if we had a succession plan in place to succeed CS, Just hope there is.

I think it is time CS moved onto another stage in his life- post MFC IMO.

Thanks again for your great gift to demonland that was "the $80K desk".

It's a gift that keeps on giving.

Sounds like McLardy told you to get stuffed rather than dignify that question with an answer, as he rightly should have.

IMO - Schwab & Connoly both need to go.

All our old dirty laundry will keep being brought up by the media until there is a change.

They may have done some good things over the years but enough is enough.

This club needs to return to the top and I don't think that these two will be able to help guide us there.

That's the whole point isn't it; most of those who criticise him really don't know why, they just go along with, and become part of,the crowd.

I don't know how good a job Schwab has done but the Board seem happy with him and if we are happy with the Board, we should accept their judgement. I think a lot of people have been sucked in to the Wilson/Schwab brawl and only want him gone because she's said he's no good.

Well I reckon she's no good, so why should I side with her?

What a waste of time this thread was, I am glad I didn't bother when it was created (no offence BB).

Capped off with BH being as pedantic and anal as he sees me as.

Is Schwab a good CEO?

The board says yes, and while that may not be a great answer, it's the only one that's relevant.

You don't like it - run for the board. Or support someone to run for the board who will remove him.

this is retarded. How the hell can anyone outside the club have any idea what he does day to day, or what kind of bloke he actually is.

I'm happy to back the Board...

But he has one damning stat. The two clubs he's presided over since 2000 have had the worst recruiting record in that time.

I acknowledge he (obviously) doesn't pick the players, but as CEO he must take some responsibility for the terrible recruiting/development at Melbourne and Freo.

I support him and the board, and voted favourably for Schwab... but I should note that a friend of mine, that formerly dealt with him day-to-day over the last couple of years, found him to be arrogant and a bit of an ar$ehole.

FWIW.

Can confirm this view. 'Aloof' and not a great 'people person' are two commonly held opinions.

Seems a shrewd operator with a canny knack for survival though.

The acid is on him to preside over a rapid on-field rise over the next 36 months.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
