Id trade Cale for one of those Wakey waving inflatable flailing arm tube men.

I would too. At least these things look like they are doing something. ........................That and you can't take your eyes off them, when was the last time we could say that about Morton (if ever at all)?

I'm not a Morton fan, he's frustrated the hell out of me for a long time. If he wants to go and we can get someone semi-decent for him I say we take it and be done with him once and for all.

If he stay he stays, and I'll back him when he pulls on the red and blue. But I would be quite happy to see him gone.

I don't know anything about this Meredith bloke, but from what I have read I'd be happy take him in a swap.

Be a good pick up one of these things I reckon. Designated role would be for it stand on the mark trying to put the opposition full forward off his set shot.

Best thing you've written. Your week break has served you well RR, I had a good chuckle. Imagine Riewoldts jitters when staring down the barrel at the waving condom.

Very very good potential in Lamb. Remains only person to recieve the perfect score in the very difficult Buckley kicking challenge at Combine. God we could use some good picks but I think he was around pick 15 so he'd cost us 20-35 draft pick.

pick 21.

I'd be happy to exchange Morton for Lamb, + we give up an early 3rd Rnd Pick, or a player.

Maybe Greeny could be tempted to keep going for another year, or 2? Or Jamie Bennell may also benefit from the mythical Swans turntable.

Cale getting traded, Green Machine managing to actually post an image, am I dreaming?

No point being a good kick if you are unable to get the ball in the first place!

I want to keep Cale! There I said it. One tough pre-season. Proven running ability and it's not as though we have a plethora of run and spread players. Put him on the wing and he'll prove everybody wrong!

Me too. He's yet to have a clear run with injuries and I'm guessing it's shattered his confidence. Still got huge up side. Just remember his first year in particular. He was much better than recently.

I have to chuckle at the "experts" on this place. Most of you know nothing about Meredith but are happy to get him. I live in Sydney and go to a few Swans games. He is a SPUD. Do not get him. Don't be tricked into thinking the Swans are better with drafts picks than we are because they have done so brilliantly at the Moneyball thing. They have had a lot more misses in the draft than MFC and Meredith is one of them.

I still believe there's upside to Cale Morton. I have confidence that Neeld will use him better than Bailey, and Misson should be able to improve his strength and fitness. IMO he just needs a bit more time under the new regime at the MFC.

I'm not sure we'd ultimately get the better of any trade involving Cale at this point in time.

That sums it up. If all we are getting in return for him is a bag of manure, then there's no point. If he has a rubbish 2013 then he can be delisted, but if he turns it around he could be a useful player or trade chip for us in the future. This trade does nothing for us.

This is not about me making up my mind. It's about Morton's trade value being so low that there's no point trading him. We'd be better off delisting him next year and not clogging our list with the slop we get in return for him if this thread is any indication of our return.

I don't like blanket statements so a great deal of what is written in here about Cale is BS.

He provides something we lack - namely outside run and uncontested possessions.

He needs to improve other areas of his game as his physicality can be deplorable and his intensity at the contest can be just as bad.

Unless we get some outside run back, I would persevere with him.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
