Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I was interested to see Gerard Healy at the B&F. I thought that relations were pretty ordinary between him and the club. Would he have been attending from a professional perspective?

i was thinking the same thing when i saw him....what the hell is he doing there??...did he win one at our club??

Neeld has come out on the record and state Chunk is an A grader, I tend to agree.

Easily or best mid, gets the hard tag often yet still leads us for possessions and maintained an excellent disposal efficiency. Flew under the radar of mainstream media due to our win/loss record only.

Will do even better when he has targets forward of the ball to kick too and he isn't forced to hold the ball up and get caught with it on occassion.

Words cannot describe how good jonesy is, pure class, and he really seems driven to be as good as he can be, and to help this club climb back up the ladder.

“Probably three or five years ago I wasn’t really sure if I could make it,” he said.

But Jones said he devised a plan “a couple of years ago” to transform his game.

“I can assure you I’m more driven than ever and more desperate than ever to make it as a player and for this footy club to succeed.”

Jones said that first year senior coach Mark Neeld, and director of sports performance, Neil Craig, had given him great support in 2012.

Along with his family and friends, Jones praised midfield coach Brian Royal and development midfield coach Aaron Greaves, plus boxing coach John Bowman and former Demon Paul Hopgood for helping him win Melbourne’s highest individual honour.

I am not a huge Royal supporter, but if Jonesy is being honest here then maybe it is just the quality not the coaching which is holding the midfield back.

Anyway super article imo, quote after quote, Jones is just class, and has the will to succeed which is huge.

That is an interesting comment about Royal. Maybe he just threw the name in as courtesy (though I doubt it), but jeez he cops it on here.

I listened to a fairly big part of Jones's speech (it goes for 16 minutes!) and was surprised to hear that in his thank yous he gave Gerard Healy a huge wrap and said he had been mentoring him for the last 2 years. Said something along the lines that he had played a significant role in helping him achieve the plan he had set himself 2 years ago and when he doubted himself Gerard was there for him.

Said Kelly O'Donnell and someone else from the club had connected them.

He has been a mentor to Jones.

See the comment on MFC website.

Jones Credits him for a lot of his improvement over the last couple of years.

Super player for the Dees Gerard even though he deserted us when we were on the cusp of contention. His brother is still working at the club in some capacity also (board member i think)

Director of Football I think. He took up the role vacated by Jim.

Gerard Healy's beef is with Schwab. I know this has been done-to-death on various OTC threads so I'll refrain from elaborating any further.

Still, after his shameless dredging of the MFC tanking saga and then to have the effrontery to sit in at the B&F it does make one (supporters like myself) wonder.

When i walked past him he looked at me with a big smile at the B&F.

I could tell he did not feel to cosy at the B&F and i was thinking should i say what the F^TF mate.

Nathan should thank him for draging our club through the mud again, which the AFL could well take something very special from our club yet.

He should have never shown his face around the club after the witch hunt him and brock have started.

Some might think im over the top with my thought's but dont FUC& with my club then smile at my clubs B&F 4 weeks later like nothing happen.

Kicking a club when there down, your a top bloke mate dont come back.

But when his name was announced there was an embarrassing very low key applause. Everyone was thinking the same thing and he would have noticed it or maybe not his ego is that big.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
