So what's his options? Retire or ask for trade with a team willing to pick up his contract yeah?

Anyone else get the feeling there's been a not too subtle meeting of the coach and players behind closed doors that's seen some finally decide not to "buy in"?

I cant see he has an option to go into the trade bin. Times caught up. :(

Regardless it's VERY interesting. He is another of the "old firm" as I like to put it who have been with the club for a while but haven't been up and about for the last few seasons. While I have loved Flash and what he brought to the club it's clear that he isn't the player he used to be and, like Beamer and to a lesser extent Green, would be the main culprits when it came to going missing in big games.

I'd be sad to see him either traded or retire but, in terms of moving forward, it's a positive move (again!) for the club after the last 6 years. The wheels are turning.

Makes sense, but it is Davey's call of course.

I imagine the club would be comfortable letting him go.

I so much look forward to the time when we have even a few players who are consistenty contenders for the best and fairest, instead of the string of one or two year wonders that pepper out honour board at the moment.

At least Nathan Jones has shown a picture of consistency and progress through his career. That's the kind of thing I want noted at the end of year functions.

If I were him, I'd certainly be looking somewhere else.

ya reckon ?

He's now a couple of yards slower than required. His body is dishing up some unfortunate luck with injuries.

Hes 29, he'll be 30 not long into season 13.

Oh yeah baby sign him up....can hear this from far and wide....those FD's will be lining up

A few years ago, his mother said she wanted to see her boys reunited at the one club.

Perhaps a trade with the Bombers for that Angus character?

hmm.. a little bit of logic there sire

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
