Cloke a Demon....?

We need midfielders!!

This to me says we have no confidence in Watts or Cook making it as a forward. Also what is the point in drafting Clark as a forward? 2 big forwards don't always work, just ask Brisbane. Also how do we get the ball down there enough to utilise these two gorillas?

Doesn't make sense, I smell shinanagons.

The money we have would be better invested in a gun midfielder than a gun CHF/FF! We need to be able to get the ball down there first.

Agreed, along with Viney we need a classy outside mid (and HB) with break away speed and great ball use a la Burgoyne. But we also need another KF/avenue to goal other than Clark and at this point no one's sticking their hand up to say "it's me it's me" at either senior or VFL level. Howe's having a crack as a part timer/floater across CHF but don't think he'll ever be a KF as such.

Neeld's probably looking for the twin tower option and a 2nd alternative goal kicking pack marking/lead up forward. Doubt we'd be able to find the folding stuff to beat off the others though.

Having Jurrah back (if/when) he gets back will be a great injection to the team and a big relief for Neeld obviously. Although i'd rather see Jurrah played as an outside mid (mostly) at this point. His burst speed, ability to know where to run, evasive skills, footy smarts in general and clean/smart disposal are something we sorely lack through the mid atm (and the clean/smart/quick disposal to advantage.....lacking pretty much all over the field lol) . Won't be unhappy if he pushes up for the odd goal too of course!

Brown and Lynch worked pretty well, but I get your point with Brown and Clark.

2012 is a training year. That is now obvious. Even if we do not get Cloke.

We are buying.

First person iv seen nail it on the head. the whole year is basically a bunch of practice matches for Neeld.

See where the list is at, try out some structures, get the fitness up, and possibly even tank for pick #1 and #2 to fix up the midfield.

Big player turnover this year.

I would be thinking this is a ploy to make Collingwood pay more for Cloke- although GWS are already seeing to that..

I would rather Shaw as he is a free agent. We lack run from the backline.

I think our forward problems stem from having no small options. Watchi g Sainters vs Blues it was so evident how slow we are, and how important speed and small forwards are. If we are about correcting deficiencies we need running back and small forward sooner than another tall forward.

Not going to happen but just the thought of Fat Ed cracking it over the mere suggestion brought a smile to my face. At least it let's everyone know we have cash and were willing to spend and those at MFC know if theyre not going to act like they give a stuff we'll recruit others who do.

This is the one thing that neeld has done at the club since coming in that i love. He does not care who it is if he want's them he goes and get's them. Travis would love neeld and more then anything Travis would love the money. Well done Neeld keep this up and we might have a team by 2013. Keep cleaning up the scraps that dont want to play for you Mark and try get wellingham while your at it.

IMO there is little chance that he would come to melbourne,

Why would he leave the Pies to come to club that will struggle to play finals in the next three years.

It has been reported that Freo and GWS are after him with large offers.

Which would you choose if you were travis?

Not a hard decision for me Freo has a good team looks like they can feature in a GF in the next couple of years

Or you could go to melbourne and spend the majority of your career playing with an average team at best over the next 3 years.

Even GWS would look better at present.

IMO he will stay with the Pies, he is just trying to maximise his salary.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
