Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GWS and GC have now after seven rounds also overtaken the MFC.

As a member of this club i want to know what has happened? Six months ago we were better than the Tigers, Lions, Port and even with North, Crows and Bombers.

What has our club done to make us now worse than two teams with under 10's players? it's very sad and the board has to be held to account. I'm feeling so angry that now GWS are above us.

Bring on the draft.

Don't get too excited, yes we have been pathetic, yes we are last, but it all means nothing until we play GWS and Gold Coast.

With our draw GWS would be last, with their draw we may well be 3rd last ... we are still shocking, but GWS beating Gold Coast is hardly the thing that proves it, watching us play is

The way GWS have played and the way we are playing, we would lose... simple.

Not so sure about that, we got close to the Bulldogs, GWS were flogged, apart from that they have had a far easier draw, yet have not been close to a win in any game, we were close against the Saints as well. we'll wait and see and we may well get beaten, but as I said, until we play them it means nothing.

So we should get excited about being in front of GC & GWS, that's if we beat them, which is highly unlikely.

Watching Casey today Watts seemed to be having a great time enjoying his football, so I doubt he will ever want to play in the AFL again where it's not so much fun.

The blame falls flatley with the board who hired neeld as head coach.

Neeld has taken us so far back that we would struggle against half of the VFL.

He has taken whatever this team has learnt over the last 4 years and completely thrown it out the window.

Such a drastic step and we are now paying for the consequences

There is one group that for too long has gotten away from any real criticism over the past year and that is the playing group. Sure the coaching group has to be accountable, but they cannot make players chase and tackle and give a damn. At least half our list is not AFL standard, tough decisions need to be made at the end of the year, although they are really simple to me.

I don't care if Neeld loses the players, i want him to return to his uncompromising heart on the sleeve self, because the players have lost me and have lost many members too. Supporters are the constant, players come and go, and hopefully many go at the end of the year. Big names need to go, to be made an example of. Moloney, Sylvia, Garland, Petterd, Davey, Garland, etc some of these names need to go and hopefully the rest get the message.

Because in hindsight we've pulled the wrong rein several times over the past few years. In my opinion these include:

- Not getting our financial house in order.

- Not sacking Daniher after 2003 & then not backing him up with FD spending or not committing to genuine renewal.

- Appointing Bailey as coach/not supporting him with FD spending

- Selecting Jack Watts with pick 1

- Selecting Tom Scully with pick 1 (this thankfully can still be rectified with compo picks)

- Letting go & the handling of letting go senior players in particular James McDonald.

- Not bringing in outside leadership (we probably could've had a crack at Luke Ball)

These & many other decisions are the reasons we are where we are. I fully expect to be flamed for this & that's fine. I supported a lot of these decisions at the time & can admit I am wrong.

We slid back last year, remember 186?

I still think the board needs to answer questions about that, clear the air before Neeld can take the blame. I'm really p.....off but not ready to pass judgement on the new coaching group just yet.

Hey, where did I say we should get excited? I am just as gutted as everyone else, but I don't think the ladder means much, if there were 6 clubs winless and we were sitting in 12th spot I wouldn't be any happier than I am now, we are very ordinary, we haven't won a game, there is little to no improvement in sight. That a soulless franchise which is part of the reason we are winless (having stolen a player who wouldn't have left otherwise) has won a game against another apparently more soulless franchise doesn't change my feeling about our football club.

I can't believe it's come to this. We are a weak club and have gone steadily backwards onfield for nearly two years now. People can talk about giving a players or a coach time to get used to a new gameplan, but the players don't how a hunger for the contest or a desire to win. That requires no training, that is purely attitude. We are now below GWS and GC, who both have younger and less experienced lists than us. That says a lot about how sh*t we really are.

This is the worst I have felt in decades supporting the MFC. If we don't fix themselves onfield soon, we will lose more of the new generation of supporters. This has already begun. Kids want to see exciting players and go for a winning team. We are losers, and we have no stars for kids to look up to, and thus they are not supporting us anymore.

FOR F*CKS SAKE SHOW SOME HUNGER AND WORK TOGETHER.

The dark cloud that left the MCG last year is back. Be prepared for plenty of floggings in the media this week. We deserve every single bit of it.

Yep. If there is still bad vibes from the 186 days this next few weeks must flush them out in the open.

Can't believe the MFC trains under the same roof as the Melbourne Storm!!

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
