Interesting...perhaps grooming Tynan to be that FP crumber that we so desperately need.

Nup, those guys are born not made. I wouldn't take to much notice of the team sheet anyway, some of the guys will be in Perth as emergencies and Bate is in the selected Melbourne side. Sheahan has been playing back and McDonald forward, it's just a list of names for the moment.

So you don't think it's worth trying someone out in the position and seeing how they fare? Give him a go there, see how he goes, and maybe he'll be able to get back into the lineup for round 3 as a FP. I like his attack on the ball and think this might be a good position to at least try him in...God knows we don't have anyone else who's a star crumber.

Always worth a try but I'd be surprised if he lines up there. Also don't think we will see him back up so soon, they gave him a taste probably a bit early on the back of Strauss, Tapscott, Gysberts and Morton being either not ready or not up to scratch form wise. Lets hope this changes and also that he gets some good development time at Casey to be ready to push back into the team later in the year.

woo hoo leigh williams!! :)

I was just going to post on his selection. Very interested to see how he develops. There are spots in the team for strong marking forwards.

I went to Melbourne training here in Perth this morning, all 3 emergencies Davey, McDonald and Tynan were here... I assume they're all flying back after the game tomorrow.

Except that Aaron Davey wasn't picked for Casey while Matthew Bate was picked for both Melbourne and Casey.

Are they trying to shelter him from the media hordes who would inevitably descend on Casey Fields if they knew for sure that Davey was playing?

I don't know but am strongly of the belief that Davey should play in the VFL untl such time as he proves his right to a game with Melbourne. To leave him in Perth and not play him on Sunday would, in my view, be foolish.

As the game is 2.40 local time I would imagine the whole team would fly back that evening.

I'm presuming Lawrence and Williams played in this match?

Both of them are playing in the seniors team along with most of those selected on Thursday night.

Strangely enough, Matthew Bate isn't lining up today and we know that Tom McDonald took Stef Martin's place yesterday at Paterson's Stadium.

No James Strauss or Josh Tynan either.

Hope Tappy gets a good hit out. Will need him in next week all going well

Quarter Time: Casey Scorpions 2.5.17 trail Frankston 3.0.18

Frankston kicked the first two goals early in the quarter and the Scorpions dominated for most of the next 25 minutes but their inaccuracy held them back.

Half Time: Casey Scorpions 6.9.45 Frankston 6.1.37. The Scorps are a bit sluggish today against a persistent Dolphins. Most of the goals so far have been kicked by Casey listed players. Jack Fitzpatrick who is doing well has a goal.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
