I dont know about you guys but honestly with all the crap thats gone on this year in the media, I dont think i have been prouder before to be a demon supporter.

The way everything has been handled i think has been extremely well and they deserve alot of credit for it, it wouldn't have been easy.

Sure the players havn't performed on the park YET, but we know they will turn that part around. The roots are there now so the onfield performance has only one way to go.

Just want to say well done to the Administration team, coaching staff and players for how they have progressed through the last few months.

I know that as demon supporters we can, and do, argue and have different opinions on a range of things from admin, board, players, coaches, training systems.

I have never been prouder of this footy club and it's members than today

After 3 months of hell we are still very much supportive and united as a club

Principal over cash.

Well done all

Agree I'm so proud of OUR club today. We are leading the way compared to other clubs who are more than happy to harbour sponsors, clients and less than desirables individuals in the name

of money.

Go Dees!

That's all well and good, but $ is what keeps a football club alive. Without money, you aren't going to survive.

I'm sure there were a lot of proud Fitzroy supporters out there too.

We have time....being debt free and $6mil in assets allows us to not be in dire straights like we were years ago. If this had have happened 10years ago we'd be cactus. Thank god for Jim who demolished our debt. We have now protected our brand and allowed other potential sponsors to see what we are really made of.

To have not stood up and acted as we did would have left us in a worse position in the long run. We are in a pretty good financial position at the moment, although we will take a huge hit this year. We will come out of this.

BTW There are a lot of proud Fitzroy supporters out there.

Bloody proud.

Well done MFC.

Culture, values, common decency and humanity are worth more than a $2m sponsorhip that can be and will be replaced.

Just you wait, a sponsor will come on board and say that a key reason for their commitment was that we were a community club that did not discriminate and stood for something.

I love this club and wear my heart on my sleeve, no matter how hard the hits are I take for supporting the Dees nothing gives. Yes I dream of seeing the holy grail if I don't I hope my children do and have a toast to me should they see it.

We have stood by our principles this week and I am in admiration for the way the club has handled the situation.

I can't wait to see the boys on Saturday and my boy said to me this morning two more sleeps Daddy so we have a 40year old & a 4 year old who are proud Demons and a 6 year old Pies supporter who asked if he ca wear one of our Dees scarves on Saturday because that is his second team

Hooray a positive topic, I have always been proud to be an MFC supporter, as somebody said the other day, it's character building...

Just waiting for RPFC and Old Dee to recover from reading 'proud' 'demon' and 'supporter' in the same topic heading before giving their thoughts

As I tweeted today "it's never less than interesting to be a Melbourne supporter"

Not entirely certain where you are going with that reference but as I said in another thread - this is a good day for the values of the MFC, and I gave the club $415 this morning in two superfluous memberships and a raffle ticket to illustrate my feelings.

Agree, I have been extremely proud this week of Mark Neeld, the way he has spoken and presented from the final siren on Saturday to his media conference Yesterday he is professional hard nosed and I sincerely hope he can coach our team to success.

The club was backed into a corner, it made a good strong call. No matter what the club says walking away from 2mil per year takes guts.

I wasn't going anywhere I was hoping you would put what you put, after reading it in the other thread, kudos

Given all that has happened to the MFC recently, there's a thought that continues to go through my head. Through adversity you develop resilience. We all know who believed this, but not even he could have thought anything like this could happen all in the space of 3 months.

This whole saga will redefine who we are as a club. People often wonder what our club stands for. What we are witnessing right now, is a club forging new culture.

I have already said in another topic here how Proud I was of Neeld and the way he had handled things

Now its up to the Players to make us proud of them as well

To beat the Weagles at Subi would be a Fantastic response , however I would be just as proud of them even if they didnt win as long as they Battled their hearts out !

If they did that then I have no issues, but if they fail to show pride in their jumper and in their club then we really do have a issue as the old saying goes its not a matter of wether you win or loose but how you play the game that counts .

Lets make this one count !!!!

And people ask "what do we stand for". Now everybody knows. We stand for integrity, honesty and principals of the highest order. Rare values indeed in todays society. At this moment in time I could not be prouder of the MFC.

I agree

and as a postscript i doubt we would have ever seen that $2M each year for 5 years

I am proud of the way the club has handled itself in adversity - I am a little worn out by it all and I patiently await the day when i can be proud of how we won a premiership and how humble we were in victory given all the adversity we have lived though

I have a tear in my eye today. The admiration I have for this club is immeasurable. Big companies will be falling over themselves to be involved with this integrity juggernaut. So proud of you Dees !!! Time for our boys to back it this club up ONFIELD.

I posted the following in a different thread, so please forgive me for re-posting here but I think some journos may be reading our stuff more than usual and I'd like them to know:

I've always wondered what it means when people say our club doesn't stand for anything. Especially because I couldn't see what any other club stood for. But now I know out club does stand for something - decency.

Im proud to be a dees fan. Times are tough and i do get frustrated at times when i think that we may never get that elusive 13th premiership, but i think as im getting older, its damn cool to follow the dees, certainly never boring and people have a lot of respect for us supporters who stick through fat and thin. Keep it up everyone, eventually we will see better days..................

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
