  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

What gets me is, in neither case did Mifsud confront the alleged perpetrator directly. Chose to back door both. Then he expects to be able to conduct a "private" conversation with Thomas while not extending the same courtesy to Rendell. What a weasel.

Exactly!

If this guy doesn't have the 'Courage of his Convictions', to front face to face with the people he's trying to destroy, then he can't be trusted to responsibly handle his position.

And shows a lacking character for such a power position.

Thomas is also the problem. What sort of journalist doesn't check out what he has been told second-hand by looking for some confirmation before publishing? Regardless of who 'lied', or whether Mifsud 'leaked', it is Thomas who should be sued. He published it. It is no defence in a libel case to say 'but I was told it was true by someone who was told by someone who lied'.

wonder if Aaron will be omitted on form alone this week?

What facts do you have that make this a fair piece of speculation?

On the contrary, as a club we will do ourselves no favours by burying our heads in the sand on this issue.

I think Neeld ( MFC ) have done the right thing and called all to task.. Next the club needs to ask for 'something' more than an apology... possibly a head on a platter, that will do , for now !!

We wont be kicking practice anymore

They were his exact words in his live cross to steve quartermain .

Who was that east gippy, I didn't see the News. Was that Neelds response?

This needs to be investigated @ Melbourne, because these types of inhouse/outhouse incidents are not what the club should be built on. they need cleaning up and a good round table honesty session with the leadership group asap, to sort this Cancer from spreading.

Or I'm not a Jimma friend... Guts, "Whatever it Takes".

None, i just thought id stur the pot

At least you have admitted it.

I dont see why we as supporters would do the same its not stirring the pot its slurring our own players without any basis.

That is what Thomas did and in my view its unacceptable.

Mifsud and Thomas have come out looking like total tools. How can one beleive what they say without evidence or a "confession"?

Let's give our "senior indigenous player" at least the benefit of any doubt before condemning him on the basis of rumor and innuendo, even if part of it came from that bastion of integrity, the AFL.

If a Melbourne player said those things then [censored] them off, let them rot at Casey. Don't even let them train with the main group or at AAMI park

I agree, but as I mentioned above only if there is proof or a confession. Not on the basis of a big knobber.

I am sure Mifsud and Demetriou have made Neeld and the MFC aware where the rumour started now. So let's just sit back and see what action the MFC takes. If it is someone within the MFC I would expect that action to the harsh and swift.

AFL COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT OFFICER: what sort of BS position is that? Presumably supposed to engender harmony - wow, he has done a great job so far!

Vlad is as big a tool and fool as Misfed Misled Mifsud for not having the guts to sack him.........and has the gall to carry on and on about integrity!!

Gentlemen ... we have a rat in our ranks. Probably more than one.

This is not good.

Simple. Find the rat and then cut off it's head. A brutal full stop must be put through this sort of nonsense.

If Demetriou won't sack Mifsud then he must be sacked himself.

Worse is that we likely have a player or players, very likely one or more of the indigenous boys, who is (are) prepared to falsely slur the club because of some perceived gripe. After ALL Jimmy Stynes, Schwab and the rest of them have done for him (them).

Treason of the highest order. Find out who it or they were and chuck 'em out of the club now.

If a Melbourne player has made this up he should be sacked.

If Mifsud has made this up then he should be sacked.

The story must have been created by someone, find out exactly who it was.

This is the problem when you have an AFL indigenous office or whatever he is called. They look for something to do to keep them in a job. And pretty soon it gets murky.

Reminds me of the climate change 'scientists' like Tim Flannery who are paid by the Govt - whoa, guess what? He found out the world is going to fry us all........

And those University researchers in the UK who get 17million pounds a year to research climate! So what if they changed a few emails and alter data to come up with their bodgy conclusions.....

Hang on a minute. It is quite possible that the 'rat' told him something which was misinterpreted. For example, maybe Neeld spoke to all the indigenous guys about Jurrah's situation, possibly at their request, and Mifsud misunderstood and 'leaked' what he did. At this stage, who knows, so please let's all calm down.

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
