Did anyone read in todays herald sun (sat 17/3 ) that Mark Neeld puts all melbouren players on notice

if they dont preform well or dont have a good attitude they will be sacked and dropped from the vfl.

Neeld has given brett Lovett the authority to do as he pleases with the melbourne players even have them play

in the vfl reserves .

S----t will we have a team to field come round one against the brisbane lions

Its got nothing to do with the herald sun its about the direction the new coaching staff are going about discipling poor preformances .

Same here, refuse to even go to the site to see what the couple of free articles the offer are.

Really, they cant charge 50c a day for an item which they have provided for free until sales of there main product decreased?

I think it sucks to but really they are a business and you liked the HS when they were giving you a free ride ect

Is fair really,

Nothing new in that, MFC players have been playing in the Casey 2s for years.

Wait a second.

WAIT A GODDAMN SECOND!

PLAYERS WILL BE DROPPED IF THEY DON'T PERFORM!?

GIVE THIS MAN A GODDAMN CONTRACT EXTENSION AND GIVE SALARY RAISES TO EVERYONE AT CASEY.

He was saying that about two months ago. That he has specific roles to be filled and if somebody can't fit them they'd get the boot to the VFL.

I hope one of his specialised role is "person who can hit a target by foot".

I seem to recall the way from around 2008-2010 Collingwood under Malthouse started to leave out the likes of Presty, Medhurst, Lockyer, Holland and other senior players for a number of the kids they'd brought through. I think we will see the transition start to occur this season and our team by the end of 2013 heading to 2014 will be very different to what we may predict currently

IMO this all for public consumpsion.

If he followed through on this we would only have a team of about 15 to field after the last two weeks.

As you can see you can get a completely new set of Coaching staff between seasons

but it takes 5 years at least to turn over a team of players.

You simply cannot say this 15 players go and replace them with better players over night.

You can fling 5 or 6 back to Casey and replace them but what if the replacements are no better.

This is hyperbole for MFC member consumption and a threat to 3 - 4 senior players.

Remember it is difficult to pull up your socks if you do not have any on!

The difference PSD is that the Pies still had a good list of senior players at the time.

The ones you mentioned were in Mick's eyes not going to win them a flag.

But he did have a solid group without them.

The MFC does not have a solid group of senior players

I think that is very much the thinking of Mark Neeld. Some of our older players are staring down the barrell as it should be.

It is now up to the players.

Learn & apply or goodbye...

I probably didn't put it right what you will see by the end of next season and early 2014 is the core nucleues of our solid group of senior players. Not talking flags by then thats 2016 and beyond IMO

This is great if he sticks to his word, I don't care if we struggle to field a team as long as the blokes who run out in the red & blue give it THIER all, lets call it a REAL culture shock to the MFC, bring it on I say. My thoughts are that with our current list we are still a long way off being the hardest team to beat or even competitive with the better teams, and it really irks me that teams like Crows, Eagles have, it would seem, turned it around so quickly, we stuck it rite up crows last year, but they look much bigger and stronger and more disciplined than us AGAIN, i no we haven't played them yet but hey……..i ain't blind!

I really don't envy Mr Neelds job, YET!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
