How many goals Mitch Clark in 2012

Could be 40, could be 50. Could be 60 but probably not above that. Hell, it could even be as low as 20. So long as another forward benefits from his presence. I'd expect if Clark's output was sub 40 then Jurrah's could be 60+ quite easily.

If he's kicked 35 for the season he's done his job. A return 0f 45+ would be sensational. Most importantly, the additional benefits from an improved structure will hopefully be seen in Watts, Jurrah et al.

Depends how consistently and accurately our mids can get the ball inside the 50. I actually don't mind if he doesn't kick 50, because the fact he will be drawing the main defender may result in Jurrah or Watts (or even Howe) getting more scoring opportunities.

Speaking of that, I may have a flutter on Jurrah winning Coleman medal. He will surely have the most goals for us next season providing his body stays right.

That's right, the more I think of it, the more I suspect Clark may not necessarily be the leading goal kicker for us. I'm fine with this.

As a stay at home full forward, at the price he is being paid, you would want 60+.

Fevola would have shat in 60+ goals at $150k per year.

Sylvia would be able to kick 60+ goals as our stay at home FF.

Green kicked 60 odd from half a season at FF.

Jurrah averages about 3 a game.

Howe could be the next Modra.

Mitch Clarke, I will watch with interest.

Hmmm I'm thinking 60+ would be the bonus, as I and others have said depending on assists and other forwards increased totals Clarks value should be judged.

Not what we payed for him and what others have done in the past.

Everyone will be watching with interest :)

Not an issue how many goals he kicks, its how he plays in general and the opportunities he creates for others. Having said that I'll guess 30 - 35

It's not so much how many goals he kicks, but how many goals he creates. The problem with our forward line was, when Watts lead up the ground, there was little to kick to besides Jurrah, who then took over as the #1 player in the forward line. This is not his role, as admirably as he tried to make it.

With Clark filling in the space created by the lead up of the CHF, he becomes the #1 target, taking with him the best defender there (or maybe 2) with Jurrah getting the 3rd best (and tearing them a new one). Or if Jurrah has the best defender on him, Mitch should be able to kill with his size and ability if there's an inferior defender being forced to play on him.

The opportunity created is the real reward of this coup, and maybe just maybe, with an actual tall body present in the forward line (when Watts isn't there) a small player might actually play a crumbers role (how we need Aussie back fit and firing).

Mitch's presence alone will provide more goals and more opportunities to goal. If he kicks 30 with the #1 defender on him (and creates numerous more opportunities for other avenues to goal - great). If he kicks more, then that's even better.

I'd much rather having our team sharing more goals, than one player kicking the majority but ultimately fewer goals. At least we now have a realistic chance of goaling if we have to bomb it in long, when other options aren't available.

If he plays every game, I'd want to see 50.

Of course if he only kicked 10 and Jurrah and Wonaeamirri kicked 90 between them that also works.

The moral of the story is I want to see a forward line [censored] in goals.

Do you really miss the point of having Clark by that much?

Without much of an improved midfield and therefore a likely focus on defending first I see him getting up the ground and not kicking too many. I agree with whoever above said 30-35 would be a reasonable season return.

The stat I'll be watching is marks, that will indicate how hard he is working and how effective he is.

with jurrah, clark and green all inside 50 theyll need air traffic controllers at the G when the dees play. theyll all have dog days but provided the midfield is winning plenty of footy our forward line looks as dangerous as the good ol days with Lyon, schwarz, neitz and farmer. if sylvia can step up and moloney and jones take it to the next level the inside 50s should be picking up

What we need is for Davey to rediscover his mojo, because with his razor sharp delivery into the forward 50, the opportunities for goals will increase enormously.
