Misson Accomplished

Another key St Kilda figure David Misson walks out on Saints.

Not sure who he is, but this article suggests that we have poached ex-StKilda fitness manager, David Misson, from St Kilda.

Anybody got more insight into David, or even the role of a fitness manager? Obviously an important role, being involved fitness, training, and rehabilitation

Seeing as the Saints have been in three GF's in last couple of years, probably a good poach.

Just saw that he had left according to Mark Robinson on twitter and thought we have to get this man!

He was at Sydney during their premiership and came down to St Kilda with Lyon. So two periods of success and highly regarded. When Neeld said he wants to be surrounded by a good team this is the kind of person he is talking about.

His wife is the Principal at Melbourne Girls Grammar School (started when he came down) so I doubt he'll be leaving Melbourne.

Good to see if true.

And a high performance manger is not just a fitness manager, BTW.

See bolded part from original post rpfc.

The response when I broke the news to my mate who is a massive saints supporter and part of the coeterie:

No way really?

He is the reason we have hardly had any soft tissue injuries for the past 4 seasons, and therefore have been able to keep the same players out on the track apart from the collision injuries like Lenny.

If that's true that @#$$ing sucks.

It’s a common belief that the coach and his high performance manager are the two most important personnel in a club's football department.

Just keep poaching those IP's..

I don't know heaps about him, but I know enough to say that I expect he would be an outstanding 'recruit' for the Dees. He was poached from Sydney by Ross Lyon a year or so after Lyon moved to the Saints. IIRC, he is attributed to being the architect of Sydney's phenominal run with very few soft tissue injuries (including during their 2005 premiership year).

Cale has a new best friend.

Well we could certainly use his magic.

Major injuries and breaks etc will always unfortunately happen but you do wonder about all the soft tissue stuff..and teh 'epidemics' of Hammies that seemto break out

He was at Sydney for their premiership, followed Ross Lyon across to St.Kilda. I suggested the club go hard for him years ago as his record with keeping players on the park is second to none. If it's true he is coming across I'd be extremely happy.

It'd be funny if the Bulldogs got him first

And if he were to be consistently out performed by Old El Paso.

Massive news if true!!!

Success has followed this guy where ever he has been

im pretty sure he is the same bloke who started out with the Australian cricket team in the Waugh years, I hope so they were tough uncompromising years of Australian sport.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
