Matthew Warnock wants out

I don't think it's the best point.

The club has every right to keep a contracted player as backup, especially if an equitable trade cannot be found.

If both Frawley and Garland were injured he'd have played.

That's why he was there.

Warnock will find his way to the GWS team some way or another. He can let his footy do the talking then. Did we mistreat a solid AFL player, or was he just not up to it? Warnock is in control of his career now, we gave him a chance and now both parties move on.

Still most likely to find himslef on the Goldcoast next tseason. expect MFC to do something today nlow we've landed our big fish, all or any of the littel deals will now flow through. Id guess ( yes pure guess) around 68.

In this draft BB what do you do with pick 68?

Well.given we dont have a 12 anymore our picks thus far are 36, 54, 72, 90 so 68 becomes our third highest !!

In answer ...Id use it.

A lot may depend on any deal between Essendon and GC. expect a flurry of last minute resolutions to deals...as always..lol

Might also depend if we look for anythng else out of GC

We are asking for pick 50 for Matthew Warnock and apparently Gold Coast not keen to budge on it. Hopefully they will roll over on this and that is what is expected

Pick 50 has now gone to Collingwood as part of a late deal stitched up between GC and the Filth.

Warnock to Gold Coast trade just completed. We receive draft pick 52 I think I heard.

Warnock traded to GC for Brisbane's pick 52. Not sure about this one. Was hoping he'd hold slightly more value. Perhaps a player instead. Oh well. Frees up space on the list.

Nah. The alternative was delisting and getting nothing for him. Happy that we got anything at all. Good luck Matty.

Well done to all parties on getting this deal done. We were able to respect Matthew's wishes by finding a suitable home for him, and he would obviously be grateful for this.

Thanks for the contribution over the past few seasons Matt, and good luck at your new home (although I hope the team doesn't taste too much success!).

The Gold Coast would be happy with the deal, and they hopefully will have confidence dealing with the MFC for future trades. This might benefit us in the next couple of hours with Caddy!!!

Good luck Matty

well done Dees

Yep. Win/win/win I reckon. We will probably use pick #52 on a speccy, Matty gets increased opportunities in the sun, and GC win his services (over GWS who would have nabbed him through the PSD). Thanks for the contribition Matty. An honest trier who gave his all when we needed it most.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
