Fevola

so I take it you wouldn't approve? LOL

Yeah, I know, it's a bit of an ineffectual threat, even if not an idle one.

I have an MCC membership and don't need to buy my premium MFC/MCC membership add-on. I get nothing out of it.

I'd still attend games and support the team, but they'd lose that money from me if they were stupid enough to recruit Fevola.

I don't feel they deserve it if they're going to fritter it away like that.

Don't worry about the money..just let me know and I'll pay your pittence.I thought we had gotten rid of you- or we did for a few months anyhow..I'd say good riddens to someone that threatens the club like you..and I hope,Fevola is listed, gets into the leadership group and sings dixies to you in the MCC...hope you enjoyed Warnie when he was a bad boy..nearly all his cricket life..

Sign him please. Can play until 34, just like Hall, who still performs. Get him please. Sick of always finding excuses to not draft experienced players. The current model of intense conservatism when drafting and signing players is drowning the club in mediocrity, and has for some time. Just give a bloke a go. Do it.

If you can read and you are smart enough, you'll see it's not a threat.

I'm just saying that's how this incredibly stupid plan to Fevola makes me feel.

You know Melbourne supporters have completely lost the plot with this season when there is a 4 page thread on the pros of drafting Brendon Fevola.

FFS, step away slowly people!

HaHa, LOL, I love your great Wit Jaded, just sensational.. Your great for this site.

We missed out on Darling because of his off field discretions leading up to the season and look how he's turned out...

Big difference, W & H.

One is a Young Smart Alec who's done Nothing yet and hasn't proven a thing.

the other is a Champ @ AFL level, who has had some Issues growing up, but is trying to work on them. Thats the attraction, and the Idea that he won't cost a 1st Rnd Pick to get him. Offers value.

The other attraction is that he's only really needed for approx 2 years as the Kids grow into the AFL, around his experience. He takes some pressure off those around him.

At Carlton he was the only wheel,,,, & at the Lions he went alright initially, till his wife left with the kids to come home. He then went off track, as you would.

Now he obviously wants to redeem his status for his family, his childrens memories of their DAD, & all who put their trust in him. In essence, his very Integrity.

Ah, sorry W & H, your right I missed the tone in you post. words & text are not my strong suit. I most times cant here the tone. and I'm skimming as I do other things. So,,,, sorry for the missed tone in your post.

I don't really care if we do or don't grab FEV, But IMO we do need a mature 2 year option @ full forward. Even if it's Barry Hall. He'd help us to HTFU.

Which team has a less formidable forwardline than us at the moment? No-one. It's dire times in the goal kicking department and anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves.

One of the most talented full forwards the game has seen on the cheap? Yes please. Sign him up for 1 year with strict terms on what would be a deal breaker.

So if there is no "charges" laid then all these incidents are okay are they? I'm not totally against getting the Fev, especially if he really has turned it around, but you can't just palm off his past indiscretions like they are all nothing. They were bad enough to get him sacked from 2 separate clubs. As I said earlier could be a great story, but I'm pretty wary.

Maybe Fev's dad has been reading Demonland today:

Why must threads on topics here always develope into slanging matches. Me at the beginning if the year didnt want Fevola but after watching our so called forward line operate I think we need a focal point up forward.

If he is not picked up by an AFL team in the draft he will be holding down the full forward spot at Casey, something people are against anyway. Better to list him cheaply, strict years contract and open up the FF spot at Casey by playing him in the seniors.

At the moment we dont have anybody at Casey who would come into the side NOW or even next year, let them develop at FF

and when they have developed enough[ bigger bodies] bring them in.

We as supporters like to think every young player on our list will be a gun, sadlly thats not always the case. Whats plan B if Cook and Fitzpatrick dont develope? Draft another 18 year old and wait until they might develop into another gun.

I am 61 and I have been waiting since 1971 tell me about patience. All we tend to draft are polite stick figures.

Now do your best one and all and slag off at me because I dont give a stuff as I barrack for the Demons and that has taught me patience if nothing else.

Sick of always finding excuses to not draft experienced players. The current model of intense conservatism when drafting and signing players is drowning the club in mediocrity, and has for some time.

Your slur that the Club is too conservative is so misplaced. I would have thought the efforts to recruit Jurrah, Howe, Wonnamerri would have been the exact opposite to what you are saying. Just because MFC has not recruited a player whose behaviour would make a village idiot seem mainstream is unflattering reflection on the club critics.

the other is a Champ @ AFL level, who has had some Issues growing up, but is trying to work on them. Thats the attraction, and the Idea that he won't cost a 1st Rnd Pick to get him. Offers value.

I should have met you when I wanted to sell my first car without a RWC for an inflated price many years ago.

Port Adelaide. Nothing like woe is me is there?

....

I would have thought you could well remember the last time we had ageing clowns at FF like Mark Jackson and Brent Crosswell. Caveat Emptor. If you worried about developing forwards then have Fevola at FF at Casey or MFC steals the oxygen from younger players who need on ground development. There is no evidence that he has had any positive impact on younger players. But certainly there is evidence that he has had negative impact on younger players at his two previous clubs.

The bottom line is that the current difficulties at the Club dont suddenly make a self destructive, incredibly immature and dysfunctional footballer less so. I trust the MFC football department shows the barest modicum of good sense to see through the Fevola dross.

Where did I say that Fev is a proven leader.

Um...right here ???>

Yes- Fevola is a leader--he can direct, lead, organise and these are the elements of a leader in which I feel he can contribute on field immensely.

Simply that's how I feel about the incomparable stupidity of recruiting Fevola.

But what if he manages to keep it all together, has a 50+ goal season effectively getting us into the finals where the younger players can gain invaluable experience of finals footy pressure that will stand them in good stead when we make a real push for the top 4 (Fev or no Fev). In the meantime, Cook and Fitzy become the main focus in the forward line at Casey where they can develop their games and be ready to take over where the Fev leaves off.

Yes, it's probably a big risk, but isn't that what footy is all about?

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
