If this guy was playing for a top side he'd be a confirmed star and pushing serious Brownlow votes.

I absolutely love this guy.

Is he a shot for the B&F? I could be wrong but when someone plays a lone hand in a big loss, they clean up with the votes. Watts is becoming renowned for this!

I've already fessed up but am happy to do so again. He's terrific and i just love watching his competitive spirit. Seems like a really decent young bloke too. Watts and Trengove are terrific.

I'm not sure there is enough egg to go around .... he is great and I feel good as i never ever wrote him off. He's a class act, born leader ! I'd make him captain over green !!

I am guilty of thinking we'd made a mistake. I am eating my words and I admit he is fast becoming my favorite player. Sorry for doubting you Jack!

Looks like he is going to be a great player after all. He showed signs last year, he has proven himself this year. The only thing that pisses me off is that they chuck him in the back line whenever the going gets tough. He's become a quality utility, oh wait that's right, we drafted him to be a key forward. Sh*t, MFC coaching staff take your hat off. But still will always be a better player than NicNat, guaranteed. So much class and poise. The only problem is that poofy haircut and pedo beard that he grows. I think its called a razor and number 2 on the clippers...

with a small handful of others in the last few weeks who actually looked like they gave a sh!t.....he was buggered towards the end of the game...cos he pushed and pushed...not like some of our so called leaders

Jack Watts, McKenzie and Frawley are in my opinion the only blokes who can hold their heads up high after the last two weeks. Put these blokes in the leadership group.

Quickly rising in our B&F, won't win it, but plays in our best every week and shines when we play poorly. Love watching him play. Actually, when I can't get to the footy he is one of the reasons I watch, even if er get beaten badly. I agree with you Maco - stop #%@*&%$@ playing Watts down back. The reason he is missing easy goals is he gets so little game time practicing. Enough of the Development phase"!!! Play Watts forward.

What about Trengove?

I'm about to turn 60, haven't owned a guernsey for about 50 years. My present to myself is a new MFC guernsey with the No. 4 on the back. I've been backing him from the beginning and he's the most positive thing to happen during this mostly forgettable season. To borrow a line from a friend on the inside at the Club, "Jack Watts is going to be a star for us, on and off the field".

Don't worry maco...once the midfield matures he won't be down back at all...After Strauss left the ground, Jack was needed down there.

I'm absolutely thrilled for the lad. He has had to put up with more $h!t than any other early draft pick that I can remember, and he is coming through it brilliantly. One of very few shining lights in an otherwise dismal season. Well done Jack!

60 years old and still wearing a footy jumper! RESPECT!

Being best player in the losing side against the AFL's best teams should be worth double b & f votes.

Watts is our shining light this season and our next genuine superstar.

Shades of The Ox circa 1995 in that pirouette goal on the run in the first.

Green out as Captain, he's been the biggest dissapointment this year, not up to it. Trengove and Watts co-captains or Trengove Captain and Watts V-C

It was never in doubt that he'd be a very good player for mine. Only moron opposition supporters who liked to dig the heels in and dreadfully short sighted MFC supporters thought otherwise.

The real question is and always has been if he'll become the star we need. That question still remains, but I'm ecstatic with the signs so far.

I'd say Jack would be certain for at least a top 5 b&f finish if he keeps up his current form for the next few weeks.

I know it doesn't mean much, but could you imagine the media hysteria if NicNat had of kicked a goal like Jacks today.

Posted

Looked SO frustrated so often. What a pity he had so little support. I wish he could afford to do a little less around the ground so he had enough left to lead like a maniac. The other Melbourne players seemed not to get that he doesn't need metres on his man to take a mark on the lead, he only needs a step. There were plenty of chances to kick the ball into space in front of him for JW to run onto, but instead we wait, wait, wait, and bomb long to a massive contest... So stoopid.

Both of Watts' goals were great. He's started to get that Buckley (Nathan NOT Simon!) look when the goals beckon..."I don't care how far out I am, this ball IS going through those sticks!"

Today I thought Watts put his hand up and showed hes the future Captain.

New Coach, and make Watts Captain.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
