Richmond Supporters

Like others here, I respect Tiger fans for staying staunch in hard times, but tell me, is there a more pig ignorant bunch of supporters for any club?

Their ridiculous cries of 'ball' every time an opposition player is tackled are simply pathetic.

I think it is more out of desperation to see their team come back into the contest.

I'm sure some will be crying foul with the umpires today, but we had just as many 50/50s going against us, particularly early on in the match.

I had the pleasure of sitting behind 4 teenage boys, with the combined IQ of a cockroach. They got stuck into everyone from Jack Watts to Jim Stynes. It took a lot of self control not to punch them all in the head.

I appreciate the passion that Tigers' supporters show, but these guys made singing the song after the game just that much sweeter.

Shameful to think that these idiots are the future of our country, I'd be surprised if they know how to count to 10.

Conversely, I had a whole bunch of Toiges supporters around me and they were okayish, but there were a few unsavoury comments. Agree, the song was sweet, but for me, the highlight was paying homage to Jordan McMahon for delivering us 'The General' Jacky T. There were a few quiet murmurings after that...it was great!

I have a friend who is, without doubt, one of the best blokes you could ever meet, who is a Richmond supporter. He claims that being put in the same collective group as other Richmond supporters is more difficult to endure than the Tigers' woes over the years.

Sat next to a really friendly, though rough-as-guts looking, tiger supporter at ground level of the Ponsford stand. To my surprise, out of nowhere he greeted me 'good luck' before the game, and shook my hand after the match to congratulate me/us. What a lovely bloke. Totally changed my preconceived ideas about RFC supporters...

this s how dumb they are some guy called MMM and said if they had been given the freekicks we were they would of won by 12 goals......hahahahahaha

Heard that. There was stunned silence before Gary answered. Absolutely brainless.I couldnt believe how they walked out before the siren. The team at least played right to the very end but they couldn't even stay to support their own. Obviously thought they were a shoe in to win.

The umpiring was pretty average all game, but it was no consequence to the result. If we kicked straight we would've rolled them by a million points.

The fact that they were screaming for holding the ball so much is an indictment on them for not having possession enough!

Sat in the Richmond members area with some friends down in the pocket in the old Olympic stand, about 15 minutes into the quarter i spotted a young fellow MFC supporter who i normally sit with at home games.

He had been sitting up the front, but when i spotted him he was retreating away from the boundary because he was copping too much abuse from the people around him; so we shuffled over and he sat with us for the game about 10 rows back. Even there we still copped the typical "Go home you filth" all game.

While we clapped and cheered the goals and stood up for the courageous umpires and some of their finest work, we were not untoward or overtly ignorant/arrogant in any fashion. Yet with 15 minutes to go in the final quarter, one of the Richmond faithful decided that on his way out up the stairs, he would stop and throw his half full cup of beer in our faces before running away up the stairs.

Clearly not all supporters can be generalized by his actions, but what a pack of feral scum bags we sat with today.

We were enjoying ourselves last qtr singIng ou regular soccer chants when some Rfc supporter threatened to take me outside. Other Rfc supporters backed me up saying he was way out of line. I then saw him at the cricketers arms where he totally retreated NO harm dOne. Stay strong ye faithful the best is yet to come

I heard him (on the car radio in the carpark!) too, and the both of us had a good laugh over that! Yes, there were some funny decisions, but they went both ways, we got some we probably didn't deserve, but so did they. So the umpiring really had no effect on the contest. Go to the HS website and have a laugh reading all the Tigers supporters blaming the umpires for their loss today. The Tigers played well I thought, we just played better.

Pretty ridiculous to have preconcieved ideas about any supporters, and even more ridiculous to have one person change them. I have been to games against all teams where I came away thinking they were the worst of the worst, and I have been to game where I came away thinking they were all lovely. I've seen MFC supporters who I wouldn't even talk to let alone befriend, and I've met filth supporters who are awesome people. And for the record, I don't own a Chalet at Mt Hotham, drive a Range Rover or live in Toorak.

Can't wait for the follow up to this post when you realize your wallet is missing.

I took my 15yo cousin who is a Richmond supporter (most of my family are), and there was a split second hand laid on Nicholson, I'm talking one tenth of a second, when my cousin and a chorus of the toothless yelled "ball!" Nicho was long gone dashing through the middle... I looked at my cuz and we both laughed, he realizes how stupid his tribe is.

The funniest thing I've heard in a long time was a toigs fan ringing triple M saying if it wasn't for the umpires Richmond would have won by 12 goals...... he's trippin'

    CONSISTENCY by The Oracle

"I think we have got a team that can win a premiership, and if we get in this year, I don't think there is a team that is going to want to play us. This year is not a write-off, I don't concede that. Not at all." — Collingwood President Jeff Browne. I love this sort of optimism from the Magpie President after his club’s eleven goal defeat at the hands of the fast rising Hawks. It’s consistent with the fighting spirit of the club that won last year’s flag.  I only wish I could say the s

    FEARS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne’s worst fears about the absence of Max Gawn were realised when it received a shellacking from Fremantle’s ruckmen Sean Darcy and Luke Jackson who dominated the hit out tally in their game at Optus Stadium on Sunday by a massive 47 to 19. As a result, the 50-point deficit at the end of the game proved to be a loss that was long foreseen that was two years in the making and demonstrated a complete lack of hindsight and planning from the club. To add insult to injury, Jackson was a D

    RAIN CHECK by Whispering Jack

The Frankston Dolphins broke a run of six straight losses against their neighbours, the Casey Demons and kept their hopes for a long-awaited return to the VFL finals alive with a 27 point victory over at Kinetic Stadium. Casey was welcomed to the Peninsula by grey skies, heavy rain and angry seas with threatening white-capped waves whipped up by gale force winds. After a slow start in the opening term when they failed to take advantage of the breeze, it appeared that the Demons had decided
