Man, he makes our forward line look so much better.

21 possessions, 12 marks of which 3 were contested and 2 goals today.

For a third gamer that is some seriously impressive stuff. He's going to play a really important part in our premiership aspirations.

Yes, he really looks a ready made player. Has so much poise, and looks like he's belongs in the big time. We really are buidling a team with heaps of real talent. Now, if they can just start playing some consistent footy! But, think that will come.

His hands are outstanding and the marks he took today were great. The 2 goals were very handy. Definitely a future player for us and we havent seen him take a trade mark screamer yet.

Is he a chance for the rising star nomination this week?

Lock him in, he's eligible.

Yeah he will be up there with a few this week.

It will be between him, Breust from the hawks, and I assume Menzel is eligible.

Id say Menzel this week, but Jeremy wont be far away if he keeps this form up.

I knew about his leap and marking, but I am also really impressed with his field kicking. He kicks that flat, hard ball which really gets through the air with speed, which makes him even more valuable considering how many marks around half forward and wing I am hoping he takes in the future, where he will be delivering those kicks to our deeper forwards.

The DF Marauder strikes!!!!!

Howe about that!!!! Nice. I'm taking everything a week at a time though. Sorry for the cliche' but it was a pretty deleted Freo, and at the G lol

Sat with a hardened Hawks supporter at the G today and he said 'Gee I'd love him at Hawthorn. That kid's got great one grab hands and has more footy nous than Bate and Dunn combined'. Hard to disagree.

Love this about him, along with all the other more tangible stuff.

A genuine Tall, 3rd tall... He helps the forward structure by having a real Tall who can mark O/H and play the big guy. He chases tackles, and all the stuff we've been needing. It frees up Petterd as well to play a more even small to medium forward type role or into the Mids. Fantastic.

Hard At It...

This ^^^^ is it, was skeptical with the raps on the kid "next robbo" etc (in that he may play selfishly)but he offers everything we want in a disciplined forward, pressure, 10 marks goals... he is the new petterd, bate, dunn.... 1-2 of these guys wont be on the list asap imo

Evans, Gawn, Tapscott, Nicholson, Gysberts and Howe have all started off their careers so well, people talk about us building a list of high draft picks like Watts and Scully, what about these blokes putting their hands up to be part of it. Exciting stuff

agree nail in the coffin for the careers of bate and dunn, shown more in 3 matches than those two have in their whole careers.

Great game. He has great hands.

Makes Bate and Dunn look like amateurs.

Sure does- im going to spit the dummy out if he doesnt get the rising star this week.

That's hyperbole.

Bate had a very good start to his career.

He hasn't kicked on, but don't rewrite history.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
