Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Melbourne must stand up!

The Melbourne FC now must stand up for the rest of the year. Especially this weekend...I have a fear that this might be a bit draining on the boys. It has been a big week and none of them would have been able to switch off from football with the news of Grimes Jamar and Trengove.

What I am most upset with is the way the AFL have acted twice towards the MFC this year.

Firstly the way that GWS are able to have a crack at Tom Scully without him even finishing his first contract. The AFL could have put a rule in place saying that players must be signed up for a minimum of 4 years to a club before they can be poached because that's what it is. Poaching... (They have money outside the cap to entice players)

Also the way the AFL have suspended a kid for tackling for 3 weeks, to me the tackle was fair. If they wanted to make a statement they should have given him 1 week max. I'm a Melbourne supporter so I guess I'm a bit one eyed but it seems to me the AFL weren't happy with the way we played in the back end of 2009...

Most importantly I want the boys to play with the attitude that the world is against them and they come out and SMASH the Roos this week and stick it up the AFL with some of back handed compliment... In the press after the game. Will be disappointing if we come out a bit flat and with no passion this weekend. Mind you I get the feeling that a lot of the boys will be going to be a going pretty hard over the next 3 weeks....C'MON BOYS stick it up them

Well they played with attitude last week and blitzed. I would be surprised if what was dished out to their mate didn't galvanise them even more. If we're all [censored] off how do you reckon the players and coaches feel? They will want to take their anger out on someone I reckon. Have a feeling what the pre match address may relate to.

I'm [censored] off, but jeez...

Can we just move on.

When we win a flag I will barely remember this.

Thats right , just gotta cop the whack and get on with it .

There was no way that the AFL woulda overturned the decision .

Would've given the green light to something they've been trying to stamp out .

Let's not be paranoid about this. It was a poorly conceived rule that caused the obscene result at the tribunal and not the fact that the player in question was one of ours. The same result would have applied if Dangerfield had been the tackler and Trengove's head had hit the turf. It's another day, now let's move on and smash the shyzen out of North.

I agree with you WJ, but I'm also still paranoid. I'll survive though

crap, the decision was wrong, but why should we only `come to play` after a loss like the one we had to the eagles, or after a decision went against us. we need to harden up in general. they are men playing a mans game. geez, i wonder what the pies use to get themselves up every week.

I cant help but think that if this was a Collingwood or big club player the decision would have been different, whether it be because of Eddies power or the fact that the ALF are frightened of the repercussions. No coincidence the only player who has been let off at appeal is Nick Maxwell.

Was watching the game again the other day and found it strange that about 5 minutes after JT's tackle that Bate tackled a guy, pinned both arms and hammered him probably even harder than JT did. Player got up pretty much straight away and nothing is said of it. If anything, that was a more dangerous tackle as both arms were pinned.

Would like to see the dees come out this week and tackle even harder, smashing players every chance they get. Won't happen of course, but be interested to see if the AFL then came out and rubbed out the whole team.

This is the biggest problem. I think Billy Brownless said it best last night on TFS when he said Jack was a scapegoat. The MRP are so inconsistent it is not funny. Also, I agree with the notion that this would not have happened to a player from a more powerful club. At least Melbourne took it as far as they could. Time to move on now, and the best response would be a win this Saturday.

If sure all of you who watched the footyshow would have been as impressed as I was at how profesional and articulate Trengove was being interviewed by Hutchy after his appeal. Let us all take a leaf out of his book and move on. No doubt this was the greatest attrosity in football this year, but next round it will be another club and another opponent. Lets take the frustration out on North and break our Etihad hoodoo! And maybe some Banners People?

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
