Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Once Trengove's body and fitness is ready for a full crack at the big time (another pre-season or two) the kid will dominate.... I have seen first hand how he played in SANFL finals over here and his poise and decision making were first class... Also his overhead marking in defense is a sight to behold... He is our future version of Jimmy Bartel

So why all quiet?

The interchange and emergencies have been released.. what do we think?

Im happy personally..

Juice, jetta and j-mac as the emergencies. Bail, Dunn, wonna and gizzy on the bench

And what are you basing this off?? There's been nothing reported on the club site, nor in the Sun teams chat which doesn't start until 4.45pm?

Good to see some changes, but the midfield stays the same, time to bring Grimes in. We should line up as follows, we need run on our bench, we need a Half forward line that will present and contest all day and a tall forward who can go into the ruck.

Bartram Warnock Frawley

Tapscott Garland MacDonald

Jones Sylvia Trengove

Bate Watts Petterd

Maric Newton Jurrah

Jamar Moloney Grimes

Green Davey Bail

Sub Gysberts

Correct. From site: -

Interchange:

Lynden Dunn

Austin Wonaeamirri

Rohan Bail

Jordan Gysberts

Emergencies:

Michael Newton

Neville Jetta

Joel Macdonald

Rivers out with ankle, I would have thought MacDonald might have come in to replace him. Dunn will be helping Jamar with the omission of Martin...unless there are late changes. Jamar is important for us on Sunday.

Grimes will surely be used down back again.

And it's now on the MFC website. As stated above, the bench is Gysberts, Dunn, Bail and Wonna.

Emrgencies are MacDonald, Newton and Jetta.

I guess one of Wonna or Gysberts to be the sub. Given our propensity to name forwards as subs, I'll predict Wonna to be sub.

I'm not sure I agree with the idea of a forward being the sub, though.

I'm worried about our ruck situation...

I'm worried about McKernan (198/98), Tippett (203/107) and Walker (194/98) on their forward line.

Yep, cant begin to fathom why Martin was dropped this week especially with Rivers injury and the fact he's been playing so well!

Crows FL is huge.

Destined to be a big mistake in hindsight.

Yep, even the fact that Warnock is now billed as being an inch taller than he used to be isn't gonna help. We don't match up well at all. Martin could have proved to be valuable.

Its very simple, if the midfield do their job, win the ball and work hard all day then we will win. I'm expecting a much better performance this week, because the boys simply show they still want it and still have Deans back.

There was a lot of talk this week, it's time to back it up.

Dunn is very very lucky given they dropped Martin who has been in better form this year.

This is the only change that has me genuinely confused. Cannot see how Dunn would provide better value than Martin given Adelaide's ruck strength and tall forward line.

Would've though Bate's inclusion would've forced Dunn out for sure.

Weather forcast is cold and RAIN so having a much smaller team (1 ruckman v 3)could prove to be in our favour.

Yep, fair enough re newton and the ruck.

I would hope to see Maric playwell if it's wet. Solid and low to the ground. He better get busy.

Bate, use your bulk, and keep the ball in front of you.

Lets hope we see some good gutsy efforts from all the Dees.

Bleeding about Martin getting dropped and Newton ending up as the second ruckman. If he's been in form at Casey kicking goals (allegedly) pick him as a forward and play him there instead of dragging him all over the place (yes, I am aware we don't believe in having a forward line).

Having said that, if we turn up and Dunn is the second ruckman Bailey can slurp my plums.

#savethesme

Clear the decks !

Dunn must have goat photos

Yeah, but we still need big bodies in certain areas of the field to be able to compete.

If its cold and wet, body strength will come into it more.. for getting in front/getting best position in the contest.. (in the crows FL that is)

Warnock gives up 12KGS to Tippett compared to Martin who is only a few KGS less than the crow big man after a huge pre-season..

and Garland is way off in size to that big lump McKernan, col is kind of forced to take him because frawls is way off 100% and will better suited (atm) to the 3rd big man.. (walker)

Makes us look undersized in both key forward positions..

Still, as someone mentioned, the midfield might actually do its job and ease the pressure off the backline! Instead of it being swamped from the word go - as its been for most games this year so far..

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
