Last night eagles players 'rubbing our noses in it'. What I mean is that they would tackle or bump or make a play and then. Get in our faces either verbally or with some choice words. Looks to me like they were agressively pointing out we don't have the stomach for a scrap or to do the hard things. What do others think?

You could see from last night the players such as Davey, Green have just stopped wanting too do anything. All of them looked fed up, hope the players make a stand and tell DB see ya later.

Jones was our best lastnight and put his head over the ball a number of times so leave him out. Moloney has stepped up all year and West coast focused on him more than any on else.

Davey has to be mentioned as he is soft, scared and has sulks it most games now.

Im also not sure why you left Green out, the captain has been horrible this year, and has gone back to the soft, go missing player that saw him left out of the leadership group. The point when he was trying to claim the mark instead of playing the game was so frustrating to see a captain do that.

A friend of mine who worked for WC once told me clubs organise to bring players back from injury against Melbourne because the injured player will get a soft re-entry.

Totally agree with Watts04. We are missing J Macdonald badly. Everyone loves Brad Green and its hard to judge him on 5 games as captain, but there does not seem to be any direction on the field. Davy, Sylvia, Bail, Gysberts all do their own thing, whereas the teams to smash us (WCE & Hawthorn) ran through in waves as a group, using and feeding off each other.

As for being soft, that can be fixed with attitude. However Cale Morton is not up to the rigors of AFL. I'm sorry to his many many fans on this forum, and I'm sure I'll get a whack in return, but the fact is he just has zero confidence in his body (not surprisingly). Its almost a bit embarrasing watching him jump on top of a pack after 3 blokes have already wrapped up the footy. There are many other players with the same body type who still go in for the hard ball, but Cale just is not one of them. I know he is coming back from injury after injury, but I can't remember ever seeing him play two good games in a row (2 good games ever in fact). What we need are hard players to take us to the next level and beyond. I don't see Cale in our best 22.

This is the killer for me.

We are soft.

There's no questioning it. No doubt. No debate. We have only a few players who are willing to get tough (Moloney, Jones, Jamar). Most of the rest are either afraid of physical contact, or just look like they're afraid.

We don't have a presence.

I'm sure everyone who knows me thinks i'm a broken record, but I can handle losses if the team has a good HARD crack. That means being relentless and ruthless with tackling and pressure, we were excellent at it for much of last year and it looks like we are starting to see one of the major losses from taking Junior off our list. Without Jordie Mac those are our two highest tacklers from last year gone.

The offshoot of being relentless with pressure is that it creates mistakes from the other team and inevitably brings us back into the game, that was what allowed us to compete with the likes of Collingwood, Bulldogs, and Fremantle @ Subi. It breads confidence through the playing list to take risks and back each other in, right now i see zero confidence from EVERYONE bar Jamar and Moloney.

Other Clubs have traditionally used Us as one of the sides to BlooD their youngsters against, for the past few decades.

Overall we've never been a really Hard side. We had some players in the nineties team who could go hard, but by and large we're too squeaky clean. This is a problem & it's Our soft underbelly.... ingrained in the culture of the MFC Members and the MCC members. Too straight and narrow.

When we get a strong player and we cant make them comply,,, we get rid of them! Martin Pike for just one.

Yes, interesting when about 18 months ago i thought the idea of inviting Martin Pike down to the Club to talk to our new recruits for a couple of hours would be a great idea.

Certain well known Demonlanders Howled me down mercilleslly for that one!!!

Martin Pike won 4 Premiership Medallions after he left the MFC. Pity we didn't mentor him properly rather than saying it was "all too Hard"!!!!

Still think he would be a good bloke to speak to our list, he almost lost his career & then climbed right back to the top again.

Listening to the comments all day on SEN was absolutely heartbreaking. We are seen as a joke. The football team has made the Club a laughing stock of the league. If we do not beat Adelaide and take a stand we will be seen by the rest of the league as the easybeats - move over "Suns". I want to hear more than mere platitudes from Dean Bailey. I want to hear and feel that the whole team is devastated. Comments from Jones and Garland and seeing the look on Nathans face when the siren went tells me that at least he is ashamed. This afternoon Dr.Turf and the Ox said that Bailey said in 2008 that the Club needed to replicate Geelong's game plan but Geelong has since said that they needed to change their game plan to compete with the likes of Coll ....(I cant even type it)They both agreed that Melbourne hasn't changed their "Game plan" For Greeny to say publicly that the way to beat the press is to kick over their heads. Did someone forget to tell the forwards that they need to be there when the kick comes or at least attempt to be there. FFS DO SOMETHING

Only repeating what Ox and Dr. Turf said. I would hope that the Club listens to its supporters but equally or maybe more if diehard Melbourne supporters or ex players in the Media start to criticize the Club then I would hope that we will see action from the Club. I will be interested how heavy Gary Lyon weighs in on Monday night.

Settle Down Long Suffering...What happened last night is not all bad, as long as the Club acts in the right manner...Who cares what other people say about our club, as long as our supporters stick fat & don't let all this passion just fade away...

Turn the Radio off at least once an hour..
