Annoying but would rather him be fit and firing for the second half of the season and for many seasons to come than being rushed back and having to have post-season surgery and no preseason...

Not happy about it but when I heard of the injury I posted that he could be out for at least half the season. Unfortunately it appears I may be correct.

I remember you saying exactly this. Did you know something we all didnt "know" or was it because of the type of injury. Even the Club is saying that it is an uncommon injury.

we have to suck it up. Our injury list is actually not too bad at present. We would love Jordie back in as well but it is rare for us to have most of our best 22 up and running at this stage of the year.

it makes absolute sense to be conservative, and if he is going this gives opportunities for others anyway.

What the hell? Did Kevin Sheedy hit this guy on the knee with a hammer or something? Total BS.

I detect a faint whiff of BS in the air too

Praccy matches 'yeah he might be out'

Day before Round 1 'yeah he's out for 4 weeks'

Three weeks later 'that'll be another six'

someone's talking 5hit

I know we have to suck it up, and I know it is sensible injury management, and I know our injury list is looking ok at present, and I know Jordie is coming back and on and on, but FFS, I want Tom back. Not too much to ask is it. I hate injuries

Heard about this a couple of weeks ago...probably not right - my take on it however is its probably really just a 3-4 week injury but

r6 - Perth

r7 MCG

r8 Etihad

r9 Etihad

Followed by 5 games at the 'G...I just think playing on the small ground is just too risky

I'd prefer Jordy back in the side before Scully anyway. He's a yard stick for us in the middle.

Scully to GWS.

Discuss.

Yeah, because he is missing another 3 weeks he is going to GWS  , then again, another demonlander heard it in his voice, so maybe, just maybe he is getting that 9 million dollar contract.

Isn;t this just confirming what everyone suspected anyway?

yes thats true, it is confirming that he is a long term player with the Demons and they do not want to have a recurring injury, flaring up every seasons. Fix it now and he will be as good as 278 games for the red & blue.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
