  1. Unfortunately, it seems as though we've been dealt a cruel blow with season ending injuries to Grimes (foot) and Spencer (ACL). Simply terrible news. Yet, there is something to gain from this - a couple of chances for our rookies who have been performing well at Casey. My guess would be Evans and Nicholson, however with Scully/Jordie coming back in there may be limited spots in the side for them. Perhaps left field with Spencer out we could see Robbie Campbell being thrown into it. He can't be that far off being back from injury.
  2. Haha. This is seriously a joke. I understand the AFL's desire to protect players but FFS.... Out: Trengove, Grimes......FFFuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu are out.
  3. No need to have a crack Nasher, Was simply highlighting that Cale obviously is a 'great' talent, very good youngster from a footballing family, the seeds are all planted - it just seems to me watching him play that he doesn't defend, prepared to hang off the edge of packs and look for cheap kicks - have you ever notice the majority of goals he gets he's twenty meters on his own? If he played both ways with more intensity he would be a star. I see no reason why that couldn't be the case. I'm sure he is a great bloke with the same amount of deficiencies in character as your normal bloke.
  4. Morton out! Brilliant. Love that Warnock has come in too, he deserves his place. Hasn't put a foot wrong at Casey.
  5. Unsuccessful pair who have never done anything significant in the AFL. Both were at Fremantle from 02 - 07 in which they took a developing young side, similar to ours, towards only two finals series and only ONE finals win in six years. Then they were sacked, and guess who snapped these geniuses up? Us. 2008 - "Schwab joined the Demons..............contract worth almost $600,000 a year". WHAT?! Connolly was short listed for the coaching role along with Bailey, thank god he didn't get it, yet his mate Schwaby stuck by his mate and gave him a job. What does Connolly even do apart from waltz around like he owns the place and speak at functions? I rarely see him making an appearance down at Casey, and don't think Schwab has ever even travelled that far east - one of the more important places to be on a Saturday afternoon for a developing side such as ours. Honestly, apart from Cameron's 'Whiteboard Wednesday's (what a load of crap, surely he has something better to do), these two seem to be drifters. Are these the right men to lead a developing football department? Bailey is fine, we have the on-field talent, we are simply not being led properly.
  6. "His form has not been great," declared Crows football operations chief Phil Harper last night of the Crows' 2009 club champion. "He has not lost his ability overnight but he may have lost his confidence. "And, on form, Bernie does not deserve to be in the side." We are SOFT, FFS drop people if they are not performing. Reinstate them if they prove their worth in the VFL, just don't let them drift through a season of AFL football without doing anything. Be hard.
  7. This is the wrong mentality. Davey too probably has this mentality. "they won't drop me" = lack of intensity/desire that is obviously haunting many of our players. Watts played a good game, nobody can dispute that, but is it right that one good game out of five guarantees his spot for the next five weeks? I think not. Look at Adelaide, one of their star players Bernie Vince was dropped back to the SANFL because he wasn't performing. Adelaide went out and beat the Saints, i know the Saints are struggling, but they're still the Saints. I almost guarantee you we'd be in serious strife against the Saints if we were to play them this week. And we're going to be in even more strife against the Crows this week because they want it more. They'll walk all over us, because we have blokes like Davey in our team who think their spot is guaranteed. (Davey isn't the only one)
  8. Definitely wouldn't have been a knee dislocation. Any dislocation of the knee whether it be patellar or the actual tib/fib movement would result in significant inflammation/damage to surrounding structures i.e. ligaments.
  9. To those of us who watch most of the Casey games, and not just the ones on TV - this has been readily apparent. Such calls for Blease to be promoted to the ones are very, very premature.
  10. Blease is much too early. But you never know, Bailey seems to be developing a habit of giving players games that perhaps don't deserve them.
  11. Unfortunately, you will still be stuck with the Channel 7 coverage/Ten if they sell a few of the games. The games that channel 7 has will be simulcast on Fox Sports AFL i.e. you'll get exactly the same coverage, simply on a different channel. 107 or 50*, it'll all be the same for those matches..
  12. Correct, nobody. Morton is one of those players that will never be anybody, if you pay attention to Morton, you'll understand that he is the biggest cheat. Taking a punt and drifting forward off the pack, and your man, for the next cheeky little uncontested get and uncontested goal is fine.....against the Gold Coast. No hard ball, nothing silky, just lazy goalkicking practice. Guarantee that on the wide open spaces of Subiaco, against a better quality side, you'll all be shouting at the TV - "whos on him", and you won't know it there and then that Morton is, but Morton is at our end of the ground on the forward flank. I agree we need those players, but they need to take care of their man first and foremost. For every cheating Morton, there is an increase in opposition numbers around the ball and thus an increase on the chances of an opposition clearance and Morton becomes useless. Morton = 0. Simple mathematics.
  13. Like. Does anybody notice Morton seems to be a bit of a cheat? Seems to always be on his own way off the pack pushing forward. Yes he may get a few goals and yes it may look good, but it simply means there's an opposition player free somewhere else. Needs to work harder defensively IMO, bit selfish. But that's just me. I trekked out to the Rat and agree that Ricky should get the call up. We're a developing side and can't simply be stagnant - Dunn and Watts could be performing better and it's wrong to ignore a 25 possession 3 goal game. Taking a look at the FD emergencies could give us an idea of who's next in line, i.e. Warnock, Strauss, Maric, Pett etc. Seems as though after being carry over (which was Maric this week who flew up with the side) they seem to be not in contention for selection next week. Strauss Rd 1, Joel Mac 2, Warnock 3 all lost there 'emergency' tags the week after. It's hard to make changes after such a big win but i think they should be made, competition for spots = team performance, just look at the pies. Leave the guys that are playing well week in week out at Casey at your own peril - we can't have players thinking that average games and performances will be enough to keep their spot in the team. Jack Watts will be a star. But, Jack Watts has not been playing well, drop him, there are others that are more deserving of a game ATM. He's not alone. Complacency is dangerous, if they're not playing well enough drop them to the magoos. Wouldn't be surprised to see Ricky/Strauss/Maz get a game against the Weagles.
