..according to this.

Bloody good news, just get it sorted Tom and then Sheedy the snakeoil salesman can just bugger off and bother someone else.

Scully's managers Peter Blucher and Alastair Lynch from Velocity Sports are expected to hold discussions with Demons chief executive Cameron Schwab and list manager Tim Harrington in Melbourne.

So can Eddie and his "impeccable" source .

I note that the figure being talked about is now 4 mil for 5 years. Seems his value in media circles is dropping.

No, I think they finally found someone who actually has a grasp on mathematics... they have always stated $800,000pa, but for some reason always rounded it out to a much larger figure.

Speculation will intensify leading into the crucial meeting that Scully is leaning strongly toward signing a new deal with Melbourne and turning his back on a massive contract with new AFL outfit Greater Western Sydney.

Just made my day.

Let's hope this all ends in a positive nature. maybe GWS performances over the last 2 weeks have made Tom & his management decide to sign the MFC contract once & for all.

If Tom signs with the MFC within the next week or so, this is a great sign for all victorian clubs, not just the MFC.

It looks at this stage that the AFL will not get the $ Billion Broadcasting rights deal, the money is just not out there. The figure will be lower & channel 7 know it-thus we will not have live Footy on Friday nights.

Channel 7 make more money out of a delayed telecast.

Im confident he will sign now.

We have to keep our most talented core as a priority.

If we look into one of the 1200 posts on this topic someone mentioned that MFC had created the rumour and will come out and sign him before the season. All about building the Hype into 2011 and 40,000 members. Far fetched more than likely Tom has said I have had a gut full of this media speculation get the deal done so I can concentrate on my footy and not have every person ask this same question.

Thats a bloody good sign. A total reversal of his previous managers ridiculous position. This matter has to be buried before we start to play real footy.

Does this mean your head is now in the sand?

At the very least, I think you've dug a hole in the sandpit and are poised waiting to make the plunge...

Has to be? Has to be?

Why must we?

It would be ideal, but hardly "has to be".

Col Sylvia.

It could go the other way as well they might tell the club he can't keep lying to his team mates and he has signed with GWS

oh yeah and then he'll just play the season out with those teammates knowing he has sold out and his own supporters booing him

come off it

If I was a Melbourne player out of contract and an elite player such as Scully turned down such a lucrative deal, the last thing I'd want to look like is a desperate sloppy seconds recruit. Scully signing will definitely be a positive for us not just him remaining as a demon, but for others to follow suit. Domino effect.

Mark Steven's also twitted that Melbourne will hold press conference before our next practice match.

Press Conference + Contract Talks = we should know something very soon. I would say he is staying.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
